BOOTSTRAPPED APPLICATION ARRANGEMENT AND APPLICATION TO THE UNITY GAIN FOLLOWER
An amplifier circuit includes an input amplifier; an output unity gain buffer; and a second unity gain buffer. The output unity gain buffer and the second unity gain buffer are each configured to receive a signal from an input amplifier. The output unity gain buffer is configured to provide an output voltage to an amplifier output, and the second unity gain buffer is configured to provide a bootstrap signal to the input amplifier. A unity gain amplifier includes an input unity gain amplifier; and an output unity gain buffer and a second unity gain buffer. The buffers are configured to receive a signal from an input amplifier. The output unity gain buffer is configured to provide an output voltage to an amplifier output, and the second unity gain buffer is configured to provide a bootstrap signal to the input unity gain amplifier.
Calibration of push-pull amplifier to a low second order distortion
An integrated circuit comprises a first amplifier circuit with a push-pull amplifier configured to be calibrated to a low second order distortion. The integrated circuit further comprises a second amplifier circuit with at least one push-pull amplifier, wherein a size ratio between sizes of the transistors is adjustable by adjusting the size of at least one transistor device. The size ratio can be consecutively adjusted to a plurality of values, and for each value, a first output signal of a push-pull amplifier with an applied test signal and a second output signal of a push-pull amplifier without applied test signal, are determined. The size ratio for which a difference between the push-pull amplifier output signals is closest to zero is determined, and the push-pull amplifier of the first amplifier circuit is calibrated in dependence of the determined size ratio.
Push-pull amplifier, corresponding apparatus and method
A push-pull amplifier includes a pair of active devices driving the primary side of a double distributed active transformer (DDAT). The primary side of the DDAT includes a cascaded arrangement of primary windings of a first set of transformers with the active devices coupled ends of cascaded arrangement of primary windings. The secondary side of the DDAT includes a cascaded arrangement of secondary windings of a second set of transformers coupled to a load. Secondary windings of the first set of transformers drive inputs of respective active stages. Outputs of the active stages drive respective primary windings of the second set of transformers.
