SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR IMPROVING OUTPUT STABILITY OF A RADIO FREQUENCY POWER AMPLIFIER
Systems and methods for improving output stability of an RFPA. The systems may obtain an initial radio frequency signal to be amplified by the RFPA. The systems may also generate a compensated radio frequency signal by performing, based on a preset compensation rule and a set of compensation parameters, a gain compensation operation for the initial radio frequency signal. The set of compensation parameters may include a supply voltage of the RFPA and a transistor junction temperature of the RFPA. The systems may further generate, by performing a non-linear correction operation on the compensated radio frequency signal, a corrected radio frequency signal, which is transmitted to the RFPA.
AMPLIFIER PEAK DETECTION
A peak detector for a power amplifier is provided that includes a threshold voltage detector configured to pulse a detection current in response to an amplified output signal from the amplifier exceeding a peak threshold. A plurality of such peak detectors may be integrated with a corresponding plurality of power amplifiers in a transmitter. Should any peak detector assert an alarm signal or more than a threshold number of alarm signals during a given period, a controller reduces a gain for the plurality of power amplifiers.
GAIN VARIATION COMPENSATION USING TEMPERATURE ATTENUATOR
Methods and apparatuses for signal attenuation is described. In an example, an attenuator can be configured to perform attenuation of signals for an integrated circuit. The attenuator can vary the attenuation with an ambient temperature. The attenuator can further adjust the attenuation based on a control signal applied to the attenuator. The control signal can be based on one or more of a temperature profile of the attenuator and a target gain variation of the integrated circuit.
