Method for adjusting sound playback and portable device thereof
A method for adjusting sound playback of a portable device for constancy notwithstanding different environments outputs from the portable device detectable audio signals inaudible to user and the device receives reflected audio before the portable device is actually commanded to play an audio file. A list of volume weightings for reflected audio is calculated. Before commencing playback of the audio file, the portable device obtains reference volume weightings from a list according to the current volume setting, and calculates adjustment coefficients for different frequency bands based on weightings of the reference volume list and of the reflected audio list. The audio signals of the audio file are output after adjustment. A portable device is also disclosed.
Method for setting parameters for individual adaptation of an audio signal
Method for setting parameters for individual adaptation of an audio signal, including: performing a first listening test with the substeps: playing a plurality of first audio signals having different levels; obtaining feedback per frequency range from an individual which of the plurality of first acoustic signals is above an individual listening threshold; and using the lowest level of the different levels for which feedback is available as a level for the individual listening threshold per frequency range; performing adaptation of a second audio signal with the substeps: playing the second audio signal according to a total volume level considering a sound adaptation characteristic map; and varying the sound adaptation characteristic wherein the levels for the individual listening thresholds are used as minimum output levels in the sound adaptation characteristic map.
Color slider
Adjusting gains of an audio mix. Audio tracks using respective gains are individually analyzed to compute a first metric of frequency content. A user input specifies a desired second metric of the frequency content. Responsive to the user input, respective gains of the audio tracks are collectively and simultaneously adjusted to produce respective adjusted gains of the audio tracks. A second audio mix when played of the audio tracks with the respective adjusted gains has a third metric of frequency content different from the first metric of frequency content. The third metric is closer to the second metric than said first metric.
METHOD FOR EQUALIZING INPUT SIGNAL TO GENERATE EQUALIZER OUTPUT SIGNAL AND ASSOCIATED PARAMETRIC EQUALIZER
A parametric equalizer includes an equalizer circuit, a first protection circuit, a second protection circuit, and a first addition circuit. The equalizer circuit is arranged to receive an input signal, and process the input signal to generate an output signal. The first protection circuit is arranged to generate a first protection signal according to the output signal, the input signal, and a first processed signal. The second protection circuit is arranged to generate a second protection signal according to the input signal and a second processed signal. The first addition circuit is coupled to the first protection circuit and the second protection circuit, and is arranged to combine the first protection signal and the second protection signal to generate an equalizer output signal.
SMART AUDIO SETTINGS
Embodiments described herein provide for smart configuration of audio settings for a playback device. According to an embodiment, while a playback device is a part of a first zone group that includes the playback device and at least one first playback device, the playback device applies a first audio setting. The embodiment also includes the playback device joining a second zone group that includes the playback device and at least one second playback device. The embodiment further includes the playback device applying a second audio setting based on an audio content profile corresponding to the second zone group.
Methods and apparatus for audio equalization
Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed for audio equalization. Example instructions disclosed herein cause one or more processors to at least: detect an irregularity in a frequency representation of an audio signal in response to a change in volume between a set of frequency values exceeding a threshold; and adjust a volume at a first frequency value of the set of frequency values to reduce the irregularity.
Adjusting a Playback Device
Certain embodiments provide methods and systems for managing a sound profile. An example playback device includes a network interface and a non-transitory computer readable storage medium having stored therein instructions executable by the processor. When executed by the processor, the instructions are to configure the playback device to receive, via the network interface over a local area network (LAN) from a controller device, an instruction. The example playback device is to obtain, based on the instruction, via the network interface from a location outside of the LAN, data comprising a sound profile. The example playback device is to update one or more parameters at the playback device based on the sound profile. The example playback device is to play back an audio signal according to the sound profile.
Ambient sound activated device
Environmental sound is recorded using one or more microphones. A source of the recorded environmental sound is classified. The recorded environmental sound is weighted based on the classification of the source and the source media sound using a weighting mode to determine whether to mix the recorded environmental. The recorded environmental sound is mixed with source media sound to produce a mixed sound based on the determination. The mixed sound is played over one or more speakers.
Sound quality enhancement and personalization
A computer-implemented method comprises identifying an audio playback device configured to reproduce audio content based on an audio input signal, wherein the audio playback device has a previously measured characteristic frequency response; retrieving the previously measured characteristic frequency response associated with the audio playback device; generating, based on the previously measured characteristic frequency response and a preferred frequency response curve for a plurality of users, a frequency response filter that modifies the previously measured characteristic frequency response of the audio playback device to a modified frequency response; processing the audio input signal with the frequency response filter to generate a filtered audio signal that differs in relative amplitude from the audio input signal in one or more frequency bands; and causing the audio playback device to play back the filtered audio signal.
Capacitive environmental sensing for a unique portable speaker listening experience
A networked speaker system automatically adjusts certain audio speaker system settings based on whether the system is inside a building or has been moved outside as may be sensed by one or capacitors on a speaker. Also, techniques are described for adjusting speaker driver direction based on walls or other barriers in a room or based on the location of a listener.
