Thermoformable polymer thick film transparent conductor with haptic response and its use in capacitive switch circuits

This invention is directed to a polymer thick film transparent conductive composition with haptic response capability that may be used in applications where thermoforming of the base substrate occurs, e.g., as in capacitive switches. Polycarbonate substrates are often used as the substrate and the polymer thick film conductive composition may be used without any barrier layer. Depending on the specific design, the thermoformable transparent conductor may be below or on top of a thermoformable silver conductor. Thermoformable electric circuits benefit from the presence of an encapsulant layer over the dried polymer thick film conductive composition. The electrical circuit is subsequently subjected to an injection molding process.

Methods and devices for forming painted circuits using multiple layers of electrically conductive paint. In one aspect, a painted circuit includes a substrate (111) and one or more paint layer (106, 108, 110, 112, 114, 116, 120, 122) applied to the substrate, where the one or more paint layers each form an electrical component of the painted circuit. A light-emitting assembly with improved illumination includes a first substrate, a light guide layer, light emitters, a touch sensor, a first reflective layer, and a second reflective layer. The first substrate defines a light-transmitting area. The light emitters are in the light guide layer. The light emitters emit light to illuminate the light-transmitting area. The touch sensor is opposite to the light-transmitting area. The first reflective layer is between the first substrate and the light guide layer and defines an opening aligned with the light-transmitting area. The second reflective layer is on a side of the light guide layer away from the first substrate. An electronic device using the light-emitting assembly and a method for making the light-emitting assembly are also disclosed.

Touch sensing structure, and electronic device using same

A touch sensing structure with improved illumination includes a first substrate, a decoration layer, a light-shielding layer, a light-emitting element, a pressure-sensitive element, a first reflective layer, and a second reflective layer. The pressure-sensitive element is farther away than the light-emitting element from the first substrate. The decoration layer shows a function icon. The light-emitting element emits light to illuminate the function icon. When the first substrate is pressed, the touch sensing structure determines a magnitude of the pressing force by detecting a change in the resistance or voltage value of the pressure-sensitive element. If the pressing force reaches a specific value, the function identified by the function icon is executed, otherwise no function is executed.

A display device and a manufacturing method of the same are provided. The display device includes a frame, a pressure sensor, and a pressure sensing module. When a touch portion receives external pressure, a resistance value of the resistor changes, and a corresponding pressure sensing signal is output. The pressure sensing module outputs an execution signal according to the pressure sensing signal to realize a pressure touch function on a side of the frame. This eliminates a need to make holes in a side of the frame, which eliminates a mechanical button and improves dustproof and waterproof performance of the display device.

An electronic device may have input devices and/or output devices based on piezoelectric components. Piezoelectric components may include piezoelectric ink in which particles of piezoelectric material are dispersed in a binder. The piezoelectric ink may be printed or otherwise deposited onto a substrate to form piezoelectric ink traces. The piezoelectric ink traces may be deposited on flexible substrates such as elastic speaker diaphragms or flexible fabric layers. The piezoelectric traces may be part of a key in a keyboard or a stand-alone button. In arrangements where the piezoelectric trace forms part of a key in a keyboard, the piezoelectric trace may be coupled to a grid of horizontal and vertical signal lines. The signal lines may convey key press data from the piezoelectric trace to control circuitry and/or may supply control signals from the control circuitry to the piezoelectric trace to produce haptic output.
