The invention describes an encoding scheme for arithmetically encoding a sequence of information values into an arithmetic coded bitstream using providing the bitstream with entry point information allowing for resuming arithmetic decoding the bitstream from a predetermined entry point onward. A respective decoding scheme is also provided. These encoding and decoding schemes provide more efficient encoding concept in view of the decoding speed.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DRIVING PDCP DURING DATA DECOMPRESSION FAILURE IN NEXT-GENERATION MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
Disclosed are a communication technique which merges, with IoT technology, a 5G communication system for supporting a data transmission rate higher than that of a 4G system, and a system therefor. The present disclosure can be applied to intelligent services (for example, smart homes, smart buildings, smart cities, smart cars or connected cars, healthcare, digital education, retail, security- and safety-related services, and the like) on the basis of 5G communication technology and IoT-related technology. Disclosed are a method and apparatus for driving a PDCP layer apparatus during data decompression failure in a next-generation mobile communication system.
PROCESSING VARIABLE-LENGTH DATA
Apparatuses, systems, and techniques to decompress data in parallel. In at least one embodiment, decompressing a variable-length-coded data stream speculatively decodes overlapping portions of said data stream to determine locations to begin correctly decoding said data stream.
System and method for facilitating mitigation of read/write amplification in data compression
The system can receive data to be written to a non-volatile memory in the distributed storage system. The received data can include a plurality of input segments. The system can assign consecutive logical block addresses (LBAs) to the plurality of input segments. The system can then compress the plurality of input segments to generate a plurality of fixed-length compressed segments, with each fixed-length compressed segment aligned with a physical block address (PBA) in a set of PBAs. The system compresses the plurality of input segments to enable an efficient use of storage capacity in the non-volatile memory. Next, the system can write the plurality of fixed-length compressed segments to a corresponding set of PBAs in the non-volatile memory. The system can then create, in a data structure, a set of entries which map the LBAs of the input segments to the set of PBAs. This data structure can be used later by the system when processing a read request including a LBA.
INTERLEAVING OF VARIABLE BITRATE STREAMS FOR GPU IMPLEMENTATIONS
Interleaving of variable bitrate streams for GPU implementations is described. An example of an apparatus includes one or more processors including a graphic processor, the graphics processor including a super-compression encoder pipeline to provide variable width interleaved coding; and memory for storage of data, wherein the graphics processor is to perform parallel dictionary encoding on a bitstream of symbols one of multiple workgroups, the workgroup to employ a plurality of encoders to generate a plurality of token-streams of variable lengths; create a histogram including at least tokens from the plurality of token-streams for the workgroup to generate an optimized entropy code; entropy code each of the plurality of token-streams for the workgroup into an encoded bitstream; and variably interleave the encoded bitstreams to generate an interleaved bitstream and bookkeep a size of the interleaved bitstream.
SYSTEMS, METHODS, AND APPARATUS FOR DIVIDING AND ENCRYPTING DATA
A method for data encryption may include receiving input data, finding a delimiter in the input data, generating, based on a position of the delimiter in the input data, a portion of data using a part of the input data, and encrypting the portion of data. The input data may include a record, the delimiter indicates a boundary of the record, and the portion of data may include the record. The position of the delimiter may be in the part of the input data. Generating the portion of data may include generating the portion of data based on a subset of the part of the input data. The part of the input data may be a first part of the input data, and the position of the delimiter may be in a second part of the input data.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TRANSFERRING LARGE AMOUNT OF DATA IN MACHINE TO MACHINE SYSTEM
Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to forwarding a large amount of data in a machine-to-machine (M2M) system, and a method for operating a first device may include: transmitting, to a second device, a request message for bulk data transfer; and receiving, from the second device, an acknowledgment message for notifying completion of the bulk data transfer, wherein the request message may include at least one of information for identifying data to be included in bulk data, information on a target common service entity (CSE) in a target platform that receives the bulk data, information for indicating processing of source data after the bulk data transfer, and information for accessing the target CSE.
Data compression/decompression system, and data compression/decompression method
To provide a data compression/decompression system that can appropriately decompress compressed data. A first computer generates first identification information that can identify a first execution environment; and stores the first identification information on a storage device in association with compressed data of data. A second computer generates second identification information that can identify a second execution environment; and determines whether or not the first identification information, and the second identification information match. In a case that it is determined that the first identification information, and the second identification information do not match, the second computer requests a third computer that is capable of decompression of the compressed data to decompress the compressed data, the third computer decompresses the compressed data, and transmits decompressed data to the second computer, and the second computer completes the decompression of the compressed data by receiving the decompressed data from the third computer.
