COMMUNICATION DEVICE AND COMMUNICATION METHOD
A communication device according to the disclosure includes: a signal generator that generates, on the basis of the first signal received from a communication partner through a coil, a second signal that synchronizes with the first signal; a first modulator configured to be able to modulate the first signal on the basis of the second signal; a second modulator configured to be able to modulate the first signal; and a communication controller that selects, on the basis of the first signal, whichever modulator is to be operated, from the first modulator and the second modulator.
MODULATION SCHEME CONVERSION DEVICE AND GATEWAY
A modulation scheme conversion device includes: a backscattering tag to which a tag signal is provided; and a tag signal forming unit for forming a tag signal. The modulation scheme conversion device multiplies a radio signal, which has been modulated in a first modulation scheme, and a tag signal, and reconfigures the multiplied signal by using a second modulation scheme, so as to backscatter the reconfigured signal, wherein the reconfiguration is performed in a physical (PHY) layer.
READER, RFID SYSTEM, AND STATE DETECTION SYSTEM
A reader includes: a transmission device that repeatedly transmits, at a cycle corresponding to the code length of a prescribed code string, an electromagnetic wave that is phase-adjusted with the prescribed code string; a reception device that receives the reflected wave from the object to be identified, cyclically overlaps a reception signal relating to the reflected wave at the cycle of the code length, and calculates the correlation value of the overlapped result and the prescribed code string; and a control device that controls the transmission device and varies the transmission frequency of the electromagnetic wave in a steplike manner to perform a frequency sweep within a prescribed frequency band, controls the reception device, causing the reception device to calculate the correlation value for each transmission frequency, and specifies the attributes of the object to be identified on the basis of the correlation value for each transmission frequency.

WIRELESSLY TRIGGERED DEVICE
A wirelessly triggered device for implantation in vivo is disclosed herein. In a described embodiment, the wirelessly triggered device comprises an electrically conductive suture; and an electronic circuit coated with a biocompatible encapsulating material and communicatively coupled to the electrically conductive suture, the electronic circuit arranged to convert a received wireless triggering signal into an electrical signal for passing through the conductive suture. A reader for use with the device and an electrically conductive surgical thread is also disclosed, among other aspects.
Asset location using backscatter communication with low probability of intercept and detection
Techniques are provided for asset location using backscatter communication. A methodology according to an embodiment includes receiving a signal, generated by a tag associated with an asset in response to a broadcast signal. The broadcast signal comprising a base code sequence, and the received signal comprising the broadcast signal modulated by a tag code sequence and shifted in frequency by a frequency offset. The methodology further includes translating the received signal by the frequency offset to generate a translated received signal, demodulating the translated received signal to remove the tag code sequence modulation to generate a demodulated received signal, cross-correlating the base code sequence with the demodulated received signal to generate a correlation signal, and determining a range to the asset based on a time delay associated with a peak of the correlation signal. The tag may be located based on the range and an estimated direction to the tag.
Contact lens and accessory
A contact lens according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes: a lens section that is worn on an eyeball; an acquisition section that is provided in the lens section and acquires biological information; and an output section that outputs the biological information acquired by the acquisition section to an external apparatus to be worn on a human body. The output section has one or a plurality of coil antennas extending along a front surface of the lens section, and a capacitor that is coupled to the one or the plurality of coil antennas in series or in parallel.
