The present invention relates generally to video or other media transmission, and more particularly, to encoding and decoding of video media that has been transmitted between a video source and a video sink using spread spectrum direct sequence (SSDS) modulation.

Integrated circuit

A transmission apparatus includes M signal processors that respectively generate modulated signals directed to M reception apparatuses, M being an integer equal to or greater than 2, and an antenna section. Each signal processor modulates a first bit sequence made up of two bits to generate a first modulated signal and a second modulated signal, and modulates a second bit sequence made up of other two bits to generate a third modulated signal and a fourth modulated signal, in a case of transmitting multiple streams to a corresponding one of the M reception apparatuses. The antenna section includes a first antenna that transmits the first modulated signal and the third modulated signal and a second antenna that transmits the second modulated signal and the fourth modulated signal. At least either the signals transmitted from the first antenna or the signals transmitted from the second antenna are phase-changed signals.

Wireless audio synchronization using a spread code

Disclosed herein are system, apparatus, article of manufacture, method and/or computer program product embodiments, and/or combinations and sub-combinations thereof, for synchronizing playback of audiovisual content among multiple speakers. In some embodiments, a first smart speaker receives a spread spectrum signal from a second smart speaker over an audio data channel. The first smart speaker despreads the spread spectrum signal based on a spreading code. The first smart speaker determines a time of receipt of the spread spectrum signal based on the despreading. The first smart speaker receives a time of transmission of the spread spectrum signal. The first smart speaker then calculates a playback delay based on the time of receipt and the time of transmission. Then the first smart speaker controls the playback of the audiovisual content based on the playback delay.

Communicating using spread spectrum. A legacy RF signal is intercepted from a legacy radio. spread spectrum processing is performed on the legacy RF signal to create a spread signal. The spread signal is transmitted to a receiver, whereafter the spread signal is de-spread to recover the legacy RF signal.

WIRELESS TRANSMISSION OF SAMPLES ENCODED USING SPREAD SPECTRUM VIDEO TRANSPORT

A wireless transmitter and antenna are provided on the transmit side, and a receiver and an antenna are provided on the receive side. A transmitter receives samples from a video source via media signals, permutes the input samples into input vectors, and encodes each input vector with reference to a set of orthogonal codes to produce analog SSVT signals per encoder. The wireless transmitter modulates the SSVT signals generated by the SSVT transmitter onto one or more carrier frequency signals. Once modulated, the carrier frequency signals are then broadcast by the antenna. On the receive side, the antenna receives the broadcast and provides the modulated carrier signals to the wireless receiver. In response, the wireless receiver demodulates the carrier frequency signals and produces the corresponding analog SSVT signals, which are then decoded into reconstructions of the input media samples into output vectors, which are then permuted into output samples that are sent to a video sink for display.
