Technologies directed to data transfer protocols for Ultra-Wideband (UWB) are described. One method includes a UWB radio of a first device receiving first data from an application. The first device sends data to second and third devices, the data identifying a number of data rounds, a duration of each round, a duration of a data slot, a duration of a data block, and a first slot index for the second device and a second slot index for the third device. The first device sends, during a first slot associated with the first slot index, the first data to the second device using the UWB radio. The first device sends, during a second slot associated with the second slot index, the first data to the third device using the UWB radio.
ELECTRONIC DEVICE AND METHOD USING UWB SIGNAL
An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes an antenna module, a communication module configured to control the antenna module, and at least one processor operatively connected to the communication module, wherein the at least one processor transmits a ultra-wide band (UWB) signal including a first data frame, receives, based on the transmitted first data frame, a reflected first data frame, obtains a first channel impulse response by using the reflected first data frame, acquires information by using the channel impulse response, and receives a UWB signal including a second data frame from an external electronic device in response to the transmitted first data frame.
Electronic device performing ranging operation by using ultra wide-band and operation method of the electronic device
Provided are an electronic device that performs ranging by using an ultra wide-band (UWB) communication scheme and an operation method of the electronic device. The operation method of the first electronic device includes transmitting a first ranging control message (RCM) comprising interval information to a second electronic device, determining a first time to transmit a second RCM based on the interval information, determining a first RCM timing window (RTW) based on the first time, transmitting the second RCM to the second electronic device in the first RTW, and transmitting a third RCM at a second time in a second RTW, based on a failure to receive a response message corresponding to the second RCM within a specific time period in the first RTW, wherein the second time is a random time point in the second RTW.
POWER SAVING FOR IN-DEVICE COEXISTENCE BETWEEN WI-FI AND ULTRA-WIDE BAND COMMUNICATION
A method includes determining one or more active slots and inactive slots in an ultra-wide band (UWB) ranging round. The method also includes determining multiple UWB silent periods in the ranging round based on an arrangement of the inactive slots. The method also includes determining a sleep-wake-up schedule that aligns with at least one selected silent period of the multiple UWB silent periods in the ranging round, the sleep-wake-up schedule to be used for Wi-Fi communication. The method also includes waking up a Wi-Fi station (STA) for the Wi-Fi communication during the at least one selected silent period, then going back to sleep according to the sleep-wake-up schedule.
