Embodiments of the present application relate to the technical field of wireless communications, and particularly to a method and device for data transmission, which are used to solve the problem in the prior art that a retransmission mechanism of an LTE system can meet general requirements for delay and reliability of the LTE but cannot meet higher requirements for delay and reliability caused by the application of new services. The method in the embodiments of the present invention comprises: a receiving side receives data from a sending side through multiple paths, the received data of each path being identical; and the receiving side performs multi-path data combination on the received data. According to the embodiments of the present invention, data is transmitted between a sending side and a receiving side through multiple paths, and data transmitted through each path is identical, so that the purpose of retransmission for many times is achieved, different radio channels can be fully utilized for connection, and the reliability of data transmission can be ensured with low requirements for delay.

Interference control in a broadband powerline communication system

A broadband powerline communication system is disclosed which makes use of knowledge of the spectrum characteristics of a local radio environment in order to improve the performance of the system. A determination is made of the spectrum characteristics of a radio environment in the vicinity of the broadband powerline communication system that is transmitting data on modulated carrier frequencies. Certain ones of the carrier frequencies otherwise used by the broadband powerline communication system may be masked (i.e., not used) by all or part of the broadband powerline system in order to avoid interference based on the determination. In various embodiments, the spectrum characteristics are determined 1) in advance and used to compile a configuration database comprising frequency masking parameters; 2) by monitoring the local radio environment using the transmitter/receiver nodes of the system; or 3) based upon receipt of an indication from a conflicting user that the user is experiencing interference. Various combinations of these spectrum characteristic determination techniques may also be used.

The method includes receiving, at an optical transceiver, an optical communication and constructing, at a baseband integrated circuit in communication with the optical transceiver, a radio frequency communication (e.g., the intermediate frequency data and control signals) based on the optical communication. The method also includes transmitting the radio frequency communication from a Sommerfeld-Goubau launcher in communication with the baseband integrated circuit as a surface wave along a power line to a strand mount device disposed on the power line. The strand mount device is configured to receive the radio frequency communication and wirelessly transmit the radio frequency communication (e.g., via a wireless link) to a user device.
