Techniques for signaling a beam for periodic communications

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a first transmission on a first beam of a set of beams in a first time period of a first transmission duration. The UE may identify a second beam of the set of beams in a second time period of the first transmission duration. The UE may transmit an indication of the identified second beam of the set of beams for an uplink transmission and/or a downlink transmission in a second transmission duration. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Methods, systems, and devices are used to implement BFR, SL-RS for BFD, radio link monitoring, or frequency assisted beam failure recovery, among other things.

MAXIMUM PERMISSIBLE EXPOSURE AND GRATING LOBES IN ULTRA WIDE BANDWIDTH OPERATIONS
20220386308 · 2022-12-01 ·

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, a user equipment (UE) may indicate one or more uplink beams that the UE is capable of generating where grating and main lobes of the one or more uplink beams satisfy a permissible exposure constraint. The UE may operate in an intra-band or inter-band carrier aggregation (CA) mode, and the UE may indicate an uplink beam per band of the CA mode that the UE is capable of generating to satisfy the permissible exposure constraint. Frequency dependent beam training may be initiated by the base station to support intra-band CA modes and inter-band CA modes. The base station may indicate a frequency band and uplink beam to the UE, and the UE may indicate one or more parameter values that the UE may use to generate the uplink beam in the band that satisfies the permissible exposure constraints.

Non-personal basic service point / access point (PCP/AP) communication device, non-PCP/AP communication method, PCP/AP communication device and PCP/AP communication method

A non-personal basic service set control point/access point (non-PCP/AP) communication apparatus includes a reception circuit, an estimation circuit, and a transmission circuit. The reception circuit receives a Directional Multi-Gigabit (DMG) Beacon frame including a sector sweep (SSW) field, the SSW field including a Parameter subfield indicating a value obtained by using a transmission Equivalent Isotropic Radiated Power (EIRP) of a PCP/AP communication partner apparatus and a reception antenna gain of the PCP/AP communication partner apparatus. The estimation circuit estimates an expected reception power at the PCP/AP communication partner apparatus by using the value of the Parameter subfield, and checks inequality between the estimated expected reception power and a receiver sensitivity value. The transmission circuit transmits a frame for Association Beamforming Training (A-BFT) if the estimated expected reception power is larger than the receive sensitivity value.

Feedback-driven antenna array size adaptation

A method and apparatus for antenna-array size adaptation at a BS include performing an initial beam refinement procedure using a plurality of antenna arrays with one or more devices, transmitting a plurality of beams using a plurality of antenna configurations to the one or more devices as part of an enhanced beam training procedure, wherein each antenna configuration includes a different subset of the plurality of antenna arrays used to transmit a different beam of the plurality of beams, receiving a plurality of feedback messages from the one or more devices associated with the plurality of beams transmitted using the plurality of antenna configurations, selecting an antenna configuration including a subset of the plurality of antenna arrays based on the plurality of feedback messages from the one or more devices, and communicating with the one or more devices using the selected subset of the plurality of antenna arrays.

20230087391 · 2023-03-23 ·

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, a downlink message via multiple receive antennas including a first group of receive antennas associated with a first antenna panel and a second group of receive antennas associated with a second antenna panel. The UE may generate two or more CSI reports based on receiving the downlink message, where each CSI report is associated with at least one of the first antenna panel or the second antenna panel. The UE may select at least one of the two or more CSI reports to transmit to the base station. In some examples, the UE may receive (e.g., via control signaling) a CSI report configuration and may select the at least one CSI report for transmission based on the CSI report configuration.
