METHOD OF SOUNDING REFERENCE SIGNAL (SRS)-ASSISTED SD BEAM AND FD VECTOR REPORTING FOR TYPE II CHANNEL STATE INFORMATION (CSI)
A method of channel state information (CSI) reporting is disclosed that includes determining, with a user equipment (UE), whether CSI to be reported includes a matrix based on network (NW) triggering and performing, with the UE, CSI reporting based on the determination. The CSI reporting may be periodic, semi-persistent, or aperiodic CSI reporting. The matrix may be W.sub.1,l, W.sub.f,l, or both. The NW triggering may be explicitly performed using one or more downlink control information (DCI) bits. The NW triggering may be implicitly performed based on a location of DCI detected by the UE. In other aspects, a user equipment is also disclosed.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR BEAM DIRECTIONAL NULLING FOR SRS-BASED DATA BEAMS
An apparatus in a wireless communication system is configured to perform a method for directional beam nulling of SRS-based data beams. A base station (BS) includes a transceiver and a processor. The processor is configured to transmit a data beam to at least one user equipment (UE). The processor is also configured to configure the data beam to have a null area in a direction of a satellite earth station (ES), the null area defining a space within a coverage area of the data beam in which a signal from the data beam is suppressed. The data beam is configured by: generating one or more steering vectors to the ES; obtaining a UE channel matrix via a sounding reference signal (SRS) and determining a rank value; and generating a beamforming precoder configured to directional null the data beam in the direction of the ES.
Method and system for controlling downlink transmit power
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, obtaining channel cross correlation data relating to multiple user equipment (UEs) being served in a cell, wherein the channel cross correlation data comprises a correlation coefficient associated with a first UE of the multiple UEs and a second UE of the multiple UEs, identifying that the first UE is experiencing decreasing throughput, responsive to the identifying that the first UE is experiencing decreasing throughput, determining whether the correlation coefficient associated with the first UE and the second UE satisfies a correlation threshold, and, based on a first determination that the correlation coefficient does not satisfy the correlation threshold, adjusting a downlink (DL) transmit power allocation for transmissions directed to the first UE. Other embodiments are disclosed.

A method of configuring a multichannel uplink transmission (199) comprising multiple channels (151, 152, 159, 451, 452) between a wireless communication device (102) and multiple receive panels (1013-1, 1013-2) of at least one network node (101) is provided. The multiple receive panels (1013-1, 1013-2) and the at least one network node (101) are connected via backhaul links (1018-1, 1018-2). The method is carried out by the wireless communication device (102). The method comprises receiving, from the at least one network node (101), a downlink message encoding control data (4001) for the multichannel uplink transmission (199), the control data (4001) being associated with the backhaul links. The method further comprises configuring the multichannel uplink transmission (199) based on the control data (4001).
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR COMPRESSION-BASED CSI REPORTING
A method for operating a user equipment (UE) comprises receiving a configuration about a CSI report, the configuration including information about a codebook, the codebook comprising components: (i) sets of basis vectors including a first set of vectors each of length P.sub.CSIRS×1 for a SD, a second set of vectors each of length N.sub.3×1 for a FD, and a third set of vectors each of length N.sub.4×1 for a DD, and (ii) coefficients associated with each basis vector triple (a.sub.i,b.sub.f,c.sub.d), a.sub.i from the first set, b.sub.f from the second set, and c.sub.d from the third set; determining, based on the configuration, the components; and transmitting the CSI report including: at least one basis vector indicator indicating all or a portion of the sets of basis vectors, and at least one coefficient indicator indicating all or a portion of the coefficients.
System and Method for Feeding Back Channel Information
A system and method for feeding back channel information are provided. A method for communications device operations includes generating feedback information, encoding the feedback information to produce a feedback payload, and transmitting the feedback payload to a communications server serving a communications device. The feedback information includes at least a first long term wideband channel statistics and a second long term wideband channel statistics.
Beam Information Acquisition Method and Apparatus and Communications System
A beam information acquisition method and apparatus and a communications system. The method includes: transmitting a first reference signal to a user equipment by using K antenna elements; receiving a beam index fed back by the user equipment; determining a vector having a length K according to the beam index; estimating a vector having a length L according to the vector having a length K; determining multiple weighting vectors based on the vector having a length L; transmitting the weighted second reference signal to the user equipment; and receiving feedback information on multiple transmission antenna ports fed back by the user equipment, and obtaining beam weighting information according to the feedback information. Hence, the base station may relatively accurately obtain the beam weighting information, and the beam weighting information may be better applied to a massive MIMO system
Performing enhanced sounding procedures using beamforming techniques
It is provided a method performed by a beamformer device for channel sounding in a network including a beamformer device and at least one beamformee device. In each round of channel sounding, the beamformer device may send an announcement message including identification information of beamformee devices included in a list when the list is not empty and clearing the list, wherein the beamformee devices included in the list have moved a distance exceeding a threshold value.
Precoder structure for MIMO precoding
The teachings herein present a method and apparatus that implement and use a factorized precoder structure that is advantageous in terms of performance and efficiency. In particular, the teachings presented herein disclose an underlying precoder structure that allows for certain codebook reuse across different transmission scenarios, including for transmission from a single Uniform Linear Array (ULA) of transmit antennas and transmission from cross-polarized subgroups of such antennas. According to this structure, an overall precoder is constructed from a conversion precoder and a tuning precoder. The conversion precoder includes antenna-subgroup precoders of size N.sub.T/2, where N.sub.T represents the number of overall antenna ports considered. Correspondingly, the tuning precoder controls the offset of beam phases between the antenna-subgroup precoders, allowing the conversion precoder to be used with cross-polarized arrays of N.sub.T/2 antenna elements and with co-polarized arrays of N.sub.T antenna elements.
Uplink multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) scheduling using beamformed reference signals
Aspects of the present disclosure provide methods and apparatus for selecting beamforming parameters for uplink transmissions based on an uplink reference signal. An example method generally includes identifying one or more parameters for beamformed transmission to a transmit receive point (TRP), transmitting a reference signal using beamforming in accordance with the identified parameters, and receiving, from the TRP in response to the reference signal, signaling for adjusting the one or more parameters for one or more subsequent beamformed transmissions.
