An information processing method and apparatus, a terminal, and a communications device are provided. The method includes: determining, based on detection of a reporting trigger event, whether to report an event-based beam report and/or an event-based channel state information (CSI) report to a network-side device.

Downlink control channel signaling for an aperiodic channel state information trigger

Embodiments described herein relate to downlink (DL) control channel signaling for an aperiodic channel state information (A-CSI) trigger. In one example, a user equipment (UE) communicates with a network to receive first configuration signaling to identify a first downlink control information (DCI) in a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH). The UE also receives, from the network, the first DCI. The first DCI is appended with cyclic redundancy check (CRC) bits that are scrambled by a common radio network temporary identifier (RNTI) and is to indicate an aperiodic channel state information (A-CSI) trigger. Next, the UE receives, from the network, channel state information (CSI) reference signals in one or more occasions that follow an occasion in which the first DCI is received and generates and transmits a CSI report in a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) based on the CSI reference signals.

Precoder structure for MIMO precoding

The teachings herein present a method and apparatus that implement and use a factorized precoder structure that is advantageous in terms of performance and efficiency. In particular, the teachings presented herein disclose an underlying precoder structure that allows for certain codebook reuse across different transmission scenarios, including for transmission from a single Uniform Linear Array (ULA) of transmit antennas and transmission from cross-polarized subgroups of such antennas. According to this structure, an overall precoder is constructed from a conversion precoder and a tuning precoder. The conversion precoder includes antenna-subgroup precoders of size N.sub.T/2, where N.sub.T represents the number of overall antenna ports considered. Correspondingly, the tuning precoder controls the offset of beam phases between the antenna-subgroup precoders, allowing the conversion precoder to be used with cross-polarized arrays of N.sub.T/2 antenna elements and with co-polarized arrays of N.sub.T antenna elements.

Various embodiments include an apparatus to be employed by an enhanced Node B (eNB), the apparatus comprising communication circuitry to receive, from a user equipment (UE), feedback information and control circuitry, coupled with the communication circuitry, to identify a codeword from a three-dimensional codebook based on the feedback information received from the UE, wherein the communication circuitry is further to precede data to be transmitted to the UE based on the codeword. An apparatus to be employed by a UE and additional methods are described.

Adaptive CSI reporting for carrier aggregation

Techniques are disclosed for adapting measurement reporting in a wireless communication network (10) employing carrier aggregation. In order to reduce beam link failures, the UE (200, 500) is configured to adapt measurement reporting for a serving cell (20) depending on a beam link quality of one or more serving downlink beams in the serving cell (20). For example, measurement reporting can be adapted by modifying a reporting frequency at which measurements for one or more downlink beams are sent, by varying a number of non-serving downlink beams for which measurements are sent, or both.

Wireless communication method, terminal device, and network device

A wireless communication method, a terminal device, and a network device are provided, and may meet requirements for communication performance of a 5G communication system. The method includes: a terminal device receives an activation signaling sent by a network device, wherein the activation signaling is used for activating the terminal device to persistently report first CSI; the terminal device reports persistently the first CSI to the network device after receiving the activation signaling until the terminal device receives a deactivation signaling sent by the network device, wherein the deactivation signaling is used for instructing the terminal device to stop reporting the first CSI.

METHOD FOR DETERMINING RANK INFORMATION

Provided are a method and device for feeding back and receiving channel information. The method comprises: determining a candidate resource set, selecting M resources from the candidate resource set, and transmitting at least one of indication information or channel state information of the selected M resources to a first communication node, where M is a positive integer; a selection criterion for selecting the M resources from the candidate resource set is determined in at least one of following manners: a selection criterion or a selection criterion set is agreed with the first communication node, and a selection criterion or a selection criterion set is obtained according to received indication information transmitted by the first communication node, and the selection criterion set comprises at least one selection criterion.

Reporting beam measurements for proposed beams and other beams for beam selection

Various aspects of the present disclosure relate to beam management procedures in wireless communications systems. Some implementations of the present disclosure more specifically provide techniques for reporting measurements for proposed beams (such as beams predicted to be the best beams for communications to and from a UE and a network entity) and other beams detected by the UE. The techniques may be used, for example, to identify mismatches between a proposed set of beams and actual best beams for communications to and from a UE and a network entity and allow for the retraining of machine learning models used to identify the proposed set of beams for communications to and from a UE and a network entity.

Management of channel state information reporting rate in a communication system

According to aspects of the disclosure, a method and system are provided for managing signaling in a wireless communication network. In some aspects, a base station serves a user equipment device (UE) over an air interface connection between the base station and the UE, and a bearer extends between the UE and a gateway. An example method may involve determining a quality of service (QoS) level of the bearer, and responsively selecting a channel state information (CSI) reporting rate based on the determined QoS level. Further, in some aspects, responsive to the selection of the CSI reporting rate, the method may involve causing the UE to periodically report CSI to the base station according to the selected CSI reporting rate. The method may be performed, in whole or in part, by the UE, the base station, and/or another entity in the wireless communication system.
