BEAMFORMING AND CARRIER AGGREGATION

A device configured for operating in a wireless communication network and for performing communication with a communication partner within the wireless communication network by exchanging a wireless signal is configured for communicating with the communication partner using a beamforming technique to form a transmit beam pattern being a beam pattern selected from a plurality of transmit beam patterns being formable by the device. The device is configured for providing, responsive to a trigger event, a number of transmit beam patterns being at least a subset of the plurality of formable transmit beam patterns to the communication partner or a different entity of the wireless communication network. The device is configured for receiving feedback information relating to the beam patterns of the number of beam patterns; and for using at least one of the provided number of beam patterns based on the feedback information as a selected beam pattern.

BEAM FAILURE RECOVERY METHOD AND DEVICE

A beam failure recovery method and device are provided. The method includes: after a beam failure recovery event is triggered, user equipment (UE) monitoring a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) scrambled with a cell radio network temporary identifier (C-RNTI) in a first control channel resource set (CORESET) for beam failure recovery, and monitoring a PDCCH scrambled with a C-RNTI in a second CORESET.

Beam Management Procedures in Wireless Networks

A wireless device may increment a beam failure instance counter based on detecting a first beam failure instance associated with one or more first reference signals, RSs, for beam failure detection. The wireless device may receive a medium access control control element, MAC CE, activating one or more second RSs for beam failure detection. The wireless device may resetting the beam failure instance counter in response to receiving the MAC CE. increment the beam failure instance counter based on detecting a second beam failure instance associated with the one or more second RSs. The wireless device may initiate a beam failure recovery based on the beam failure instance counter being equal to or greater than a first value.

RACH CONFIGURATION IN L1/L2 MOBILITY

Devices, systems, and methods for Random Access Channel (RACH) configuration in Layer 1 (L1)/Layer 2 (L2) mobility. A user equipment (UE) may obtain a downlink (DL) Transmission Configuration Indicator (TCI) list from a first Transmission and Reception Point (TRP). The DL TCI list may include DL beam information, RACH Occasion (RO) information, and initial Bandwidth Part (BWP) information associated with each DL TCI of a plurality of DL TCIs related to the first TRP and multiple TRPs adjacent to the first TRP. The UE may receive a handover command from the first TRP via Downlink Control Information (DCI) in Li or Media Access Control (MAC) Control Element (CE) in L2. The handover command indicates a handover from the first TRP to a second TRP of the multiple TRPs for the UE, and includes a specified DL TCI related to the second TRP. The UE may determine RACH information related to the second TRP, based at least partly on the specified DL TCI related to the second TRP included in the handover command and the DL TCI list. The UE may then perform random access to the second TRP based on the RACH information related to the second TRP. The RACH information may include uplink (UL) beam information, RO information and Bandwidth Part (BWP) information for the UE to perform random access to the second TRP.
