Reliable delivery of digital services
Systems and methods for reliable content delivery from a satellite to sub-edge devices are described. Content is delivered to a plurality of edge devices. Missing portions of the content are identified. One or more of the missing portions are selected, and the selected portions are recovered via a satellite network or a non-satellite network. The recovery is coordinated by a central cloud device based on one or more recovery factors.
Satellite beam selection
A system includes a remote computer. The remote computer includes a processor and a memory. The memory stores instructions executable by the processor to receive location data of a plurality of satellite terminals, select, based on the received location data, for each of the plurality of satellite terminals, a respective satellite beam for providing satellite communications, and broadcast a message to the plurality of satellite terminals including data specifying respective selected satellite beams for each of the plurality of satellite terminals.
Dynamically adjusting the transmission mode in a satellite communication system
A system and method for transmitting a data stream between a server and a user terminal, comprises at least one satellite gateway associated with a satellite router communicating with at least one satellite terminal associated with a terminal router, wherein the terminal router is configured, when it receives a stream request from a user terminal, to search for it in its memory resources and, if appropriate, transmit it to the user terminal, the satellite router is configured to transmit the request to the server, estimate a popularity of the stream and transmit a message of correspondence between the stream and broadcasting parameters then convert the stream into a point-to-multipoint stream adapted to the broadcasting parameters, the terminal router is configured to convert point-to-multipoint streams into point-to-point streams and transmit them to the user terminals.
Cellular enabled IP radio satellite terminal
Some implementations of the disclosure are directed to a satellite and cellular terminal, comprising: an indoor unit; and an outdoor unit comprising a satellite antenna and an outdoor Radio configured to communicatively couple to the indoor unit, the outdoor Radio comprising: an outdoor cellular antenna configured to communicate over a cellular communications network by transmitting signals generated using at least a cellular modem; and a feed horn configured to communicatively couple to the satellite antenna, wherein the satellite antenna is configured to communicate over a satellite communications network by transmitting signals over an inroute and receiving signals over an outroute.
Standalone wearable device configuration and interface
Embodiments described herein provide for a satellite device that can be associated with a user account of a minor aged (e.g., child or adolescent) user that does not have a smartphone that can be used as a companion device to the satellite device. The satellite device can be configured to be used as a primary device, without reliance upon a paired smartphone. Certain information can be synchronized with the satellite device via the association with the family account. During initial configuration, a set of cryptographic keys can be generated to associate the account of the satellite device with the set of accounts in the family. The satellite device can then access calendars, media, or other data that is shared with user accounts within a family of user accounts.
INTER-SATELLITE SPACE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM - METHOD AND APPARATUS
A method and apparatus for zero interference multi-gigabit inter-satellite communication between system satellites (300) and client satellites (301) using millimeter wave beams at transmit and receive frequencies that are aligned to the peak atmospheric molecular absorption frequencies in the electromagnetic spectrum (FIG. 1). The narrow low power beams are accurately steered within a restricted set of directions (FIG. 5) that prevent interference to other space borne radio receivers whether in geostationary or low earth orbits and cannot interfere with terrestrial receivers due to atmospheric absorption. The apparatus comprises an integrated electronically steered 2-D phased array (401), transceiver and baseband integrated circuits (402, 403) with a beam controller (404) coupled to the spacecraft attitude determination and control subsystem (407), central processing unit (406) and solid state storage device (405).

PERSONALIZED CONNECTIVITY SERVICE OFFERINGS
Methods, systems, and devices are described for providing selectable service offerings to mobile users via mobile terminals over a satellite communication system. In embodiments, a database of access profiles for accessing a network via the wireless communication system may be maintained, wherein each access profile corresponds to a service offering of a plurality of service offerings selectable via the plurality of devices and is associated with a set of network destinations within the network. In embodiments, a request is received from a device of the plurality of devices for a particular service offering of the plurality of service offerings. An access profile may be identified from the database that is associated with the particular service offering. Communications may be permitted between the device and the respective set of network destinations associated with the identified access profile.
