Enhanced CSI feedback for FD-MIMO

Enhanced channel state information (CSI) feedback is disclosed for full dimensional multiple input, multiple output (FD-MIMO) operations. In one aspect, a single CSI process is defined that is configured with an azimuth and elevation CSI-reference signal (RS) ports. A user equipment (UE) will send a precoding matrix indictor (PMI) report including a precoding matrix indicator (PMI) for the azimuth ports and a PMI for the elevation ports. One of the PMIs is assigned a low rank. The base station will use the two PMIs to create a whole channel precoding matrix. In another aspect, a single CSI process is configured having a plurality of CSI-RS resources. The UE generates channel measurement information for each of the CSI-RS resources, but only sets a CSI report to the base station of a subset of the total number of resources.

Coordinated wireless communications using multiple transmission time intervals

Coordinated wireless communications using multiple transmission time intervals (TTIs) are described. Multiple TTIs may include a first TTI and a second TTI, the second TTI having a shorter duration than the first TTI. One or more parameters may be determined for communications using the first TTI and the second TTI. A first parameter of the determined parameters for the second TTI may be associated or linked with a corresponding parameter of the first TTI, and communications using the first TTI or the second TTI may be performed using the first parameter. Wireless network nodes using the first TTI may form a CoMP cooperating set, and wireless network nodes using the second TTI may for another CoMP cooperating set, and the first parameter may be applied to each of the CoMP cooperating sets.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DEVICE POWER MANAGEMENT

Disclosed are systems and methods for a power management framework that can computationally minimize the power consumption of a device with Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) enabled. The disclosed framework can analyze the operating characteristics of a device (e.g., applications executing, movement, battery level, signal strength and current battery consumption of the device, and the like), which can provide an indication of the device's need for updated location information, and determine a frequency for updating RTK. Thus, the disclosed framework provides computerized mechanisms for the automatic optimization between the need for an RTK power update and the device's capabilities for actually performing the update.

Provided are multiuser communication methods and devices for Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA). N modulated symbols which are obtained by modulating a code block coded by a channel coder are acquired, where N is a positive integer more than or equal to 2. The N modulated symbols are spread according to N spread sequences with a specified length, and there may be at least two different spread sequences in the N spread sequences with the specified length. The spread modulated symbols are transmitted.

An apparatus for receiving reverse link signals from a plurality of subscriber units in a multi-path environment is described. The apparatus includes a receiver in a base station that receives a first plurality of reverse link signals and a second plurality of reverse link signals in a time interval. Each reverse link signal of the first plurality of reverse link signals is derived from at least a common pseudo noise (PN) sequence and unique orthogonal sequence and each reverse link signal of the second plurality of reverse link signals is derived from a unique pseudo noise (PN) sequence. The apparatus also includes a a processor that determines a timing offset associated with at least one reverse link signal to align a timing of the at least one reverse link signal with reverse link signals from other subscriber units.

A heart generated signal is provided by a heart sensor of a mobile device to an analog to digital (A/D) converter for A/D converting the sensor provided signal. The A/D converted heart signal is processed to provide heart rate. The heart rate is recorded or stored in the mobile device or is transmitted in a wireless communication system. The mobile device receives sensor provided Electro Cardiogram (ECG) signal. The ECG signal is stored or is provided to an interface unit. The mobile device has transceivers for receiving and transmitting Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexed (OFDM) signals and for modulating and transmitting spread spectrum baseband signals. The spread spectrum baseband signals have cross-correlated in-phase and quadrature-phase filtered baseband signals.

Method and arrangement for reducing the amount of messages sent in a communication network

The invention relates to a method and an arrangement for reducing the amount of messages sent in a communication network comprising a first communication network entity, a second communication network entity connected to said first communication network entity over a communication interface and one or more user equipments connected to said second communication network entity over a radio interface, whereby messages are sent on said interfaces using at least a first and a second protocol. General rules are provided for sending first protocol messages packed inside second protocol messages, so called “piggybacking”, and each first protocol message is provided with an instruction field defining a co-ordination of procedure steps to be taken for performing an action.

Cellular communication equipment radio resource adaptation

A cellular communication radio resource adaptor. The adaptor comprises a data store, at least one processor, a non-transitory memory, and an application. The application accesses a network management system (NMS) of an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) identified in an inventory of radio access network (RAN) equipment to read cell site equipment setting information. The application analyzes the cell site setting information and presents a map of an area overlaid with a graphical indication of the cellular communication radio resources owned or leased by a service provider and overlaid with a graphical indication of the cellular coverage areas by each cell site. The service provider may then adapt RAN equipment of the cell sites to efficiently use cellular communication radio resources.
