ATSC 3 APPLICATION CONTEXT SWITCHING AND SHARING
Techniques are described for expanding and/or improving the Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) 3.0 television protocol in robustly delivering the next generation broadcast television services. When automatically switching from presenting a service on a first frequency to a second frequency such as when a mobile receiver is moving through a boundary region between two broadcasters, the current broadcaster application is notified and depending on the context, may continue executing or send data to the new broadcaster application.
METHOD FOR TRANSMITTING SERVICES INFORMATION IN DIFFERENT TYPES OF BROADCASTING NETWORKS AND UNIT FOR PROCESSING SAID INFORMATION
A method for transmitting services information in a broadcasting network by at least one managing center towards a plurality of receivers includes exploring streams broadcasted by a DVB network and streams broadcasted by an IP network and extracting services information from these streams, completing an information table, situated at the highest level in a hierarchy of services information tables, included in the service information DVB-SI transmitted by the DVB network by services information related to the IP network, and transmitting the completed information table in the streams broadcasted by the DVB network towards the receivers having two switchable receiving modules, connected respectively to a DVB and an IP services broadcasting network. The receivers are able to activate the reception of digital data of a service, equivalent to the service currently received, with a second receiving module when receiving conditions of a first receiving module are degraded.

BROADCAST SIGNAL TRANSMISSION APPARATUS, BROADCAST SIGNAL RECEPTION APPARATUS, BROADCAST SIGNAL TRANSMISSION METHOD, AND BROADCAST SIGNAL RECEPTION METHOD
The present invention proposes a method for transmitting a broadcast signal. The method for transmitting a broadcast signal according to the present invention proposes a system which can support a next generation broadcast service in an environment supporting a next generation hybrid broadcast which uses a terrestrial broadcast network and an internet network. Furthermore, the present invention proposes an efficient signaling method which can cover both the terrestrial broadcast network and the internet network in the environment supporting the next generation hybrid broadcast.
SPONSOR DRIVEN DIGITAL MARKETING FOR LIVE TELEVISION BROADCAST
A system and method facilitate digital marketing for sponsors of live television broadcasts. The system allows a user, using an application on a computing device while a piece of sponsored content is being broadcast, to express an interest in the broadcast piece of sponsored content and the interest of the user is communicated to a backend system that selects an endpoint destination associated with the broadcast piece of sponsored content wherein the endpoint destination is a pointer to further digital information about the broadcast piece of sponsored content. The system and method may periodically change the selected endpoint destination based on an event in the sponsored piece of content.

Method for transmitting broadcast signals and method for receiving broadcast signals
A method of processing supplementary content in a digital receiving apparatus, includes connecting to an external device being different from a broadcaster; receiving uncompressed audio/video (A/V) content from the external device being different from the broadcaster; extracting audio watermark from the uncompressed A/V content, wherein the audio watermark includes domain type information, time information and event flag; constructing a first uniform resource locator (URL) based on the audio watermark, transmitting a request to a remote server based on the first URL; receiving a second URL for the supplementary content from the remote server, and presenting the supplementary content based on the second URL.

ZONE CASTING LINKED TO SMART DEVICES WITH PUSH NOTIFICATION FUNCTIONALITY
A plurality of auxiliary transmitters associated with at least one main transmitter, transmitting broadcast area wide programming for their respective broadcast areas, wherein a mechanism enables switching on transmission of localized auxiliary information content by at least one of the plurality of auxiliary transmitters, wherein the at least one of plurality of auxiliary transmitters transmits localized auxiliary information content on a single frequency network transmission frequency, and wherein the localized auxiliary information content includes a data item that enables retrieval of promotional information from a remote server, when the data item is analyzed by a software application.
Receiving device, receiving method, transmitting device, and transmitting method
A receiving device, a receiving method, a transmitting device, and a transmitting method. The receiving device acquires a digital broadcast signal that includes audio-video (AV) content and location information, the location information indicating a source from which application control information for controlling an operation of an application executed in conjunction with a progressing timing of the AV content is obtainable, acquires the application control information from the source indicated by the location information, the application control information including an application ID and a uniform resource locator (URL), obtains, from the URL included in the acquired application control information, control information during a polling period that is defined in accordance with an attribute specified in the acquired application control information, and controls the operation of the application based on the acquired application control information and the obtained control information.
