Resource allocation in communications networks using probability forecasts
A system (1000) is disclosed including a resource allocation optimization (RAO) platform (1002) for optimizing the allocation of resources in network (1004) for delivery of assets to user equipment devices (UEDs) (1012). The RAO platform (1002) determines probabilities that certain asset delivery opportunities (ADOs) will occur within a selected time window and uses these probabilities together with information concerning values of asset delivery to determine an optimal use of asset deliveries. In this regard, the RAO platform (1004) received historical data from repository (1014) that facilitates calculation of probabilities that ADOs will occur. Such information may be compiled based on asset delivery records for similar network environments in the recent past or over time.

Method and system for planning and running video-on-demand advertising
A method and system for planning and running video-on-demand (VOD) advertising includes a planner for planning advertising campaigns and an ad selector for running selected advertisements from selected ones of the campaigns. The campaigns are associated with household demographic classifications, video content category categories, household geographic locations, and/or video viewing times. In response to a viewer requesting a video, the selector selects the campaigns corresponding to the demographic classification associated with the viewer, the content category of the requested video, the geographic location associated with the viewer, and/or the viewing time at which the requested video is viewed. The demographic classification is determined by using an identifier of the viewer's set-top-box. The selector may select the campaigns corresponding to the content categories of the requested video. The content categories are determined by using an identifier associated with the requested video.

Dynamically scheduling non-programming media items in contextually relevant programming media content
A hardware media items scheduling and packaging system, which schedules and distributes channels to be viewed on a plurality of consumer devices, extracts contextual data from program-specific information associated with programming media content of a channel received from a distribution source device. A plurality of potential non-programming media items is determined for a plurality of users based on a match between a sentiment type of each of a plurality of non-programming media items and the extracted contextual data. Based on at least the extracted contextual data and the sentiment type of each of the plurality of potential non-programming media items, a plurality of candidate spots in the programming media content is determined. Based on at least a set of constraints and user estimation data associated with the plurality of users, a schedule of non-programming media item(s) is dynamically generated for at least one candidate spot in the programming media content.

First network node, second network node, wireless device and methods therein for handling broadcast information
A method for handling broadcast information is described. A first network node (111) operating in a wireless communications network (100) determines (403) one or more decryption keys (K1, K2, K3) to be provided to a wireless device (131) in the wireless communications network (100). The decryption keys enable the wireless device (131) to decrypt information to be broadcasted by a second network node (112) in the wireless communications network (100). The information comprises a plurality of subsets of positioning information. Each of the subsets is to be, or is, encrypted with a different encryption key based on a respective type of subscription for wireless devices (131, 132, 133) in the wireless communications network (100). The determined decryption keys are based on at least one type of subscription of the wireless device (131). The first network node (111) then initiates (404) providing the determined to the wireless device (131).

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
Methods and systems for resource management are described. A computing device may determine a duration of a content break satisfies a timing threshold. Based on the duration of the content break satisfying the timing threshold, the computing device may cause an encoder to cease an encoding operation. Based on the duration of the content break satisfying the timing threshold, the computing device may cause the encoder to send to a media device, secondary content and cause the media device to repeatedly output the secondary content rather than sending repeated requests for the secondary content.
Graphical user interface for content management
A graphical user interface (GUI) includes a first display region including a first Station Selector object and multiple first sub-regions displayed within the first display region. First user input, entered using the first Station Selector object is received, where the first user input identifies a first media station. In response to receiving the first user input, the first sub-regions are automatically populated with first information associated with first media provided by the first media station. At some later time, second user input is received via the same Station Selector object, where the second user input identifies a second media station, and the first information displayed in the first sub-regions is automatically replaced with second information associated with second media presented via the second media station in response to receiving the second user input identifying the second media station.
