Aspects of the present disclosure relate to wireless communications, and more particularly, to techniques for configuring cross link interference (CLI) measurement resources for potential aggressor UEs. An example method generally includes receiving, from a network entity, configuration information identifying a cross link interference (CLI) resource; measuring interference with respect to one or more other UEs on the identified CLI resource; and transmitting, to the network entity, a measurement report based on the measured interference.

Enhanced RRM/CSI measurement for interference management

A method, apparatus, and computer-readable medium are provided that performs an interference measurement with an enhanced accuracy. The apparatus detects a signal from a serving cell, a neighbor cell, or a second apparatus in the neighbor cell. The apparatus estimates at least one of a downlink-downlink interference and a cross-uplink-downlink interference of the neighbor cell or the second apparatus in the neighbor cell. In another aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided that configures a User Equipment (UE) to perform the interference measurement and receives an interference measurement report from the UE. The apparatus estimates at least one of an uplink-uplink interference and a cross-downlink-uplink interference of the neighbor cell or the second apparatus in the neighbor cell.

User equipment coordination for interference cancelation

Techniques and apparatuses are described for enabling user equipment to coordinate for interference cancelation. In some aspects, base stations form a user equipment coordination set by pairing a UE of a base station with another UE of another base station. The UE receives, from the other UE, information regarding an uplink transmission of the other UE to the other base station, the information including I/Q samples for the uplink transmission. Based on the received information, the UE can model interference from the uplink transmission of the other UE to a reception of a downlink transmission by the base station to the UE. After the UE receives the downlink transmission, the UE cancels, based on the modeling of the interference, the interference to the received downlink transmission from the uplink transmission of the other UE. By so doing, receiver performance or link quality of the interference-canceling UE can be improved.

Methods and apparatus in a fifth-generation wireless communications network, including an example method, in a wireless device, that includes determining a reporting quality threshold for a parameter related to channel state information (CSI); performing a measurement for each of a plurality of beams from a first predetermined set of beams for evaluation; evaluating the measurement for each of the plurality of beams against the reporting quality threshold; discontinuing the performing and evaluating of measurements in response to determining that the reporting quality threshold is met for one of the beams, such that one or more beams in the first predetermined set of beams are not measured and evaluated; and reporting, to the wireless communications network, CSI for the one of the beams.

Method for sending measurement report, communications apparatus, and system

This application provides a method for sending a measurement report. The method includes a terminal device receiving first configuration information and second configuration information, where the first configuration information indicates a measurement resource and the second configuration information indicates a slot format of a non-serving cell of the terminal. The method also includes the terminal device sending a measurement report to a network device, where a measurement quantity type of the measurement report is related to the slot format of the non-serving cell, and the measurement report corresponds to the measurement resource.

MITIGATION OF INTERFERENCE AT A FIRST USER EQUIPMENT BASED ON INFORMATION OF SCHEDULED UPLINK TRANSMISSIONS BY A SECOND USER EQUIPMENT

Disclosed are techniques for communication. In an aspect, a first UE determines information (e.g., from an external device, or via the first UE’s own energy sensing) associated with scheduled uplink transmissions on a set of symbols by a second UE. The first UE performs measurements on at least some of the scheduled uplink transmissions during a first subset of the set of symbols where no DL signals are received by the first UE. The first UE receives at least one DL signal during a second subset of the set of symbols, and mitigates interference associated with the at least one DL signal based on the measurements.

Flexible MIMO resource allocation through cross-correlation nulling and frequency domain segmented receiver processing

An access node in a wireless communication network receives a transmission that includes first and second signals. The first and second signals may be layers of a multiple-input multiple-output transmission and may also be from first and second terminal nodes. The access node derives first and second local reference signals from the transmission received using first and second antennas and estimates channel transfer functions associated with the channel through with the transmission is received. Estimating the channel transfer function can include correlating at least a portion of an expected reference signal associated with the first signal with a corresponding portion of the first local reference signal and correlating at least a portion of an expected reference signal associated with the second signal with a corresponding portion of the second local reference signal. The expected reference signal portions used to estimate the channel transfer functions may be non-orthogonal.

MITIGATING INTERFERENCE BETWEEN NEIGHBORING CELLULAR COMMUNICATIONS
20170359790 · 2017-12-14 ·

This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus for reducing or avoiding interference between communications of one base station-user equipment pair and communications of another base station-user equipment pair. A first user equipment can monitor a timing offset between the communications and send the timing offset to a first base station that services the first user equipment. The first base station time advances a window of time during which it receives uplink signals from the first user equipment. The base station also sends a time advance value and instructions to the first user equipment to advance a window of time during which the first user equipment transmits uplink signals to the first base station. The timing advance value is based on the timing offset value determined by the first user equipment. Thus, a gap period between uplink and downlink windows is increased, thereby reducing interference.

Standardized inter-base station reporting of pilot contamination for improved pilot resource re-use

The invention is directed to systems, methods and computer program products for standardized inter-base station reporting of pilot contamination for improved pilot resource re-use. Specifically, possible pilot channel contamination is detected at first user equipment and, in response to the detection, a request is transmitted for the first user equipment to forego transmission during a next frame designated for transmitting a pilot signal. A determination is made within the next frame if other second user equipment, which are communicating with a neighboring base station, are transmitting on a same channel as a pilot channel of the first user equipment and, in response to such a determination, a report is sent to the neighboring base stations that indicates that the pilot channel on which the first user equipment is communicating is currently contaminated.
