Integrated Microwave Photon Transceiving Front-End For Phased Array System
The present disclosure relates to the field of microwave and optoelectronic technologies, and in particular to an integrated microwave photon transceiving front-end for a phased array system, including: a ceramic substrate, on which a control integrated circuit, a silicon-based photonic integrated chip, a first amplifying chipset, a second amplifying chipset, and a microwave switch chipset are carried. The control integrated circuit is configured to control the silicon-based photonic integrated chip and the microwave switch chipset by means of an input control signal. The silicon-based photonic integrated chip is connected at one end with an input/output optical fiber, and at the other end with the first amplifying chipset and the second amplifying chipset. The two amplifying chipsets are connected to the microwave switch chipset respectively, and the microwave switch chipset is further connected with a phased array antenna.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR SELECTABLE PARALLEL OPTICAL FIBER AND WAVELENGTH DIVISION MULTIPLEXED OPERATION
Methods and systems for selectable parallel optical fiber and WDM operation may include an optoelectronic transceiver integrated in a silicon photonics die. The optoelectronic transceiver may, in a first communication mode, communicate continuous wave (CW) optical signals from an optical source module to a first subset of optical couplers on the die for processing signals in optical modulators in accordance with a first communications protocol, and in a second communication mode, communicate the CW optical signals to a second subset of optical couplers for processing signals in the optical modulators in accordance with a second communications protocol. Processed signals may be transmitted out of the die utilizing a third subset of the optical couplers. First or second protocol optical signals may be received from the fiber interface coupled to a fourth subset or a fifth subset, respectively, of the optical couplers.
Optical Switch and Optical Performance Monitoring Method Based On Optical Switch
Embodiments of this application disclose an optical switch. The optical switch includes at least one first port, at least one second port, a first wavelength division multiplexing WDM apparatus, an optical splitter, an optical monitoring apparatus, and an optical switching apparatus. The first port is configured to transmit an input first optical signal to the first WDM apparatus, where the first optical signal is a multi-wavelength signal. The first WDM apparatus is configured to demultiplex the first optical signal. The optical splitter is configured to split a demultiplexed first optical signal to obtain a first sub-signal and a second sub-signal. The optical switching apparatus is configured to perform optical switching on the first sub-signal. The second port is configured to output a first sub-signal obtained after optical switching. The optical monitoring apparatus is configured to perform optical performance monitoring on the second sub-signal.
Apparatus and Method for Coherent Optical Multiplexing 1+1 Protection
Coherent optical multiplexing 1+1 protection disclosed herein uses multiplexers, each having multiplexing and demultiplexing sub-units. Relay ports of a node are connected with the multiplexers, and each relay port is configured to input and output optical signals with the corresponding multiplexer. Two transmission ports of the node are connected with disjoint paths and are configured to input and output optical signals therewith. The node includes: a first optical splitter having input ports connected with the relay ports and two output ports connected with the two transmission ports; an optical switch connected with the transmission ports respectively via two input interfaces; a second optical splitter, which is a 1×N optical splitter, having one input port connected with an output interface of the optical switch and having output ports connected with the relay ports. The solution is reliable in implementation, has low insertion loss, and has good transmission performance.
CASCADED INTEGRATED PHOTONIC WAVELENGTH DEMULTIPLEXER
A photonic integrated circuit includes a photonic device. The photonic device includes an input region configured to receive an input signal including a plurality of multiplexed channels. The photonic device includes a metastructured dispersive region structured to partially demultiplex the input signal into an output signal and a throughput signal. The output signal includes a channel of the multiplexed channels. The throughput signal includes the remaining channels of the multiplexed channels. The photonic device includes an output region and a throughput region optically coupled with the metastructured dispersive region to receive the output signal and the throughput signal, respectively. The metastructured dispersive region includes a heterogeneous distribution of a first material and a second material that structures the metastructured dispersive region to partially demultiplex the input signal into the output signal and the throughput signal.
Optical Fiber Connection Detection Method and Related Device
Embodiments of the present application disclose an optical fiber connection detection method and a related device. A first network device obtains first label information, which indicates a target optical output interface, and the target optical output interface is one of at least one optical output interface of the first network device; the first network device generates an optical signal, where a wavelength of the optical signal is within a wavelength range corresponding to the target optical output interface; the first network device modulates the first label information onto the optical signal, to generate a modulated optical signal; and the first network device sends the modulated optical signal from the target optical output interface to a target optical input interface of a second network device, to detect an optical fiber connection relationship between the target optical output interface and the target optical input interface.
Bidirectional micro-optics module for WDM application
Embodiment of present invention provide a micro-optics module. The module includes a glass body of pentagon shape having five side surfaces including an upper side surface, a left side and a right side surface next to the upper side surface, a lower side surface next to the left side surface, and a 5th side surface next to and between the lower side surface and the right side surface. The glass body is adapted to, upon incident of a first optical signal at the left side surface, cause the first optical signal to propagate toward and exit the glass body at the right side surface and, upon incident of a second optical signal at the right side surface, cause the second optical signal to reflect back at the left side surface; reflect back at the 5th side surface; and finally exit the glass body at the upper side surface.

An optical communication system configured with a station-side apparatus and a plurality of subscriber-side apparatuses in a bus network topology includes an optical amplification unit installed on a station side, and a drop unit configured to branch an optical signal and excitation light, wherein the optical amplification unit includes an amplifier configured to amplify a downlink signal, and an excitation light output unit configured to output the excitation light for amplifying an uplink signal to a communication path, and the drop unit changes a branching ratio in accordance with a wavelength of the optical signal so that a transmission loss of the excitation light with respect to a trunk fiber is reduced.
