The weights of the weighted round-robin scheme are based on the transmission data rate of the respective port the data is obtained over. The processing circuitry is configured to transmit the multiplexed data stream to the destination device.

Method and apparatus for packet data unit processing

In data communication systems, data packet processing for transmission and reception may go through different stages such as segmentation or packing of the data packets on the transmission side and duplicate detection, reordering, and reassembly on the reception side. For reliable data transmission between the peers, acknowledgement based retransmission protocol known as Automatic Repeat Request may be used where each retransmission can further segment the previously transmitted data packets. This type of data processing may lead to high memory requirements and high processing requirements. A method and apparatus are disclosed that maintain additional information about the data packets which enables virtual segmentation and packing on the transmitter side and on the receiver side, virtual duplicate detection, reordering and reassembly. Performing the segmentation, packing, duplicate detection, reordering and reassembly operations in virtual manner reduce the memory and processing requirements and this may lead to reduced power consumption and improved user experience.

The apparatus for transmitting broadcast signals, the apparatus comprises an encoder for encoding service data corresponding to each of a plurality of data transmission path, wherein each of the data transmission path carries at least one service component, a frame builder for building at least one signal frame included in a super frame, wherein each of signal frames includes the encoded service data and the encoded signaling data, a modulator for modulating the at least one signal frame by an OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex) scheme, wherein each of the modulated signal frame includes a preamble having basic transmission parameters, wherein a length of the preamble is extendable and a transmitter for transmitting the broadcast signals carrying the at least one modulated signal frame.

System and method for limiting access to an IP-based wireless telecommunications network based on access point IP address and/or MAC address

A system and method manages call connections between mobile subscribers and an EP-based wireless telecommunications network through a wireless access point. Communications between the mobile subscribers and the IP-based wireless telecommunications network are initiated by a registration request. During the registration request various identifiers (IMSI, MAC address, IP Address, etc.) are communicated to the system. The system is arranged to log the identifiers and associate those identifiers with the entry point (e.g., the wireless access point) into the IP based wireless network. Call connections from the mobile subscribers are monitored for various throughput and call quality based metrics. Call handoffs between the IP-based wireless communications network and the cellular telephony network are managed by the system based on the monitored call quality and throughput metrics on a per-access point basis using the registered identifiers.
