Uplink transmission method and apparatus in cellular communication system
The present disclosure relates to a communication technique for fusing, with an IoT technology, a 5G communication system for supporting a higher data transfer rate than a 4G system, and a system therefor. The present disclosure may be applied to intelligent services, such as smart homes, smart buildings, smart cities, smart cars or connected cars, health care, digital education, retail businesses, security and safety-related services, on the basis of 5G communication technologies and IoT-related technologies. Disclosed is a setting method for an efficient uplink signal transmission of a terminal in a case where a plurality of waveforms are supported to efficiently operate an uplink in a next generation mobile communication.
Method and device for performing communication using a transmission pattern
Embodiments of the disclosure provide a method and device for performing communication. The method comprises: determining a target transmission pattern from a set of candidate transmission patterns, wherein each of the candidate transmission patterns contains a DL transmission part and/or a UL transmission part, and the candidate transmission patterns differ from one another in terms of time durations of the respective DL transmission parts and/or the UL transmission parts; and performing communication between a network device and a terminal device by using the target transmission pattern.
UPLINK FEEDBACK METHODS FOR OPERATING WITH A LARGE NUMBER OF CARRIERS
A method and apparatus for uplink feedback for operating with a large number of carriers are disclosed herein. A method in a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) includes receiving a plurality of transport blocks over a set of a plurality of configured carriers, generating hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ)-acknowledgment (ACK) feedback for the transport blocks and determining a number of HARQ-ACK feedback bits to use for the HARQ-ACK feedback. Further, the WTRU may apply, to the HARQ-ACK feedback bits, Reed-Muller coding on a condition that the number of HARQ-ACK feedback bits is less than or equal to a threshold or convolutional coding on a condition that the number of HARQ-ACK feedback bits is greater than a threshold. The WTRU may then transmit the encoded HARQ-ACK feedback bits. In addition, the WTRU may conditionally append cyclic redundancy check (CRC) bits onto the HARQ-ACK feedback bits, and encode and transmit the CRC bits.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TRANSMITTING UPLINK CONTROL INFORMATION
Example channel state information (CSI) transmitting methods and apparatus are described. The CSI is a part of uplink control information (UCI) and it includes a first quantity of bits. One example method includes determining a threshold code rate according to a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) index when the CSI is to be transmitted on a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) without uplink data. A second quantity of bits is determined according to the threshold code rate and the first quantity of bits, where the second quantity of bits is less than or equal to the first quantity of bits. The second quantity of bits of the CSI is transmitted on the PUSCH.

CHANNEL STATE INFORMATION REPORTING BASED ON USER EQUIPMENT PARAMETERS
Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for channel state information (CSI) reporting based on user equipment (UE) parameters. A method that may be performed by a UE includes receiving a configuration to report aperiodic CSI. The method generally includes determining, based on one or more parameters, to send a first report including hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback and not CSI feedback or a second report including HARQ feedback and CSI feedback. The method generally includes sending the first report or the second report based on the determination.
Resolving downlink control information ambiguity
Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a wireless communication device may determine that a first set of downlink control information (DCI) formats is associated with a same DCI size as a second set of DCI formats, and perform a padding operation so that the first set of DCI formats and the second set of DCI formats are associated with different DCI sizes. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Embodiments of this application provide a method and an apparatus for transmitting channel state information (CSI). The CSI is a part of uplink control information (UCI) and it includes a first quantity of bits. The method includes: determining a threshold code rate according to a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) index when the CSI is to be transmitted on a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) without uplink data; determining a second quantity of bits according to the threshold code rate and the first quantity of bits, where the second quantity of bits is less than or equal to the first quantity of bits; and transmitting the second quantity of bits of the CSI on the PUSCH.
Methods and apparatuses for setting buffer status report format
The present disclosure relates to a method of setting a buffer status report (BSR) format including: in response to triggering a BSR by a UE, determining an amount of data buffered in a buffer corresponding to a logical channel group configured to transmit the data; and setting a format for the BSR based on the amount of the data buffered in the buffer. A number of bits in the BSR of the format is positively correlated with the amount of the data buffered in the buffer, and the bits indicate the amount of the data buffered in the buffer.
