Broadcast transmission by relay node
11558851 · 2023-01-17 · ·

A donor communication station transmits a unicast transmission comprising a plurality of device data sets where each device data set directed to each of a plurality of user equipment (UE) devices. A relay node receives the unicast transmission and retransmits the data sets in a broadcast transmission over a broadcast communication channel to the plurality of UE devices. In one example, the donor communication station encodes data for multiple user equipment (UE) devices by applying broadcast encoding to the data for each device before applying outer encoding to the data. The dual encoded data is transmitted to the relay node over a dedicated channel. The relay node applies outer decoding to the dual encoded data to retrieve the broadcast encoded data. The relay node then transmits the broadcast encoded device data in a broadcast transmission without outer encoding.

This can solve the problem in the existing art of how to perform communication better when there are UEs of different types or different capabilities in a system.

Base station controlled temporal filtering of channel state information

A base station determines a temporal filter configuration for a user equipment (UE) and transmits the temporal filter configuration to the UE. The temporal filter configuration indicates whether the UE should apply a temporal filter to channel state information (CSI) measurements to generate CSI values, or identifies which temporal filter to apply. The UE generates CSI values based on the temporal filter configuration and reports the generated CSI values to the base station.

Robust relaying information transmitted to origination device
11558145 · 2023-01-17 · ·

An origination device (e.g., a base station) receives relaying information from a signal forwarding device in a grant or a broadcast message. The relaying information can be information pertaining to channel conditions and/or quality (e.g., a Channel Quality Indicator) of a first communication link between the signal forwarding device and a destination device, and/or an encoding rate based on channel conditions associated with the first communication link. The origination device utilizes the relaying information to determine a first set of encoding parameters that correspond to channel conditions associated with the first communication link between the signal forwarding device and a destination device. The origination device encodes a first set of data according to the first set of encoding parameters and transmits the encoded first set of data to the signal forwarding device. The signal forwarding device transmits the encoded first set of data to the destination device.

WIRELESS DEVICE, A NETWORK NODE AND METHODS THEREIN FOR REPORTING CHANNEL STATE INFORMATION (CSI) IN A RADIO COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK

A method performed by a wireless device (121, 122) for determining Channel State Information, CSI, estimates to be transmitted in a CSI report for the wireless device (121, 122) to a network node (110) in a radio communications network (100) is provided. The wireless device (121, 122) receives a message comprising an indication to use CSI estimates corresponding to a determined period of time.
