Self-calibrating RF network and system and method for use of the same
A self-calibrating RF network and system and method for use of the same are disclosed. In one embodiment, the self-calibrating RF network includes multiple hospitality properties, wherein RF network includes a property server located in communication with a terminal device providing data services through distribution elements to end point devices, such as set-top boxes. Each of the property servers collects RF performance data relative to the terminal device, the distribution elements, and the end point devices. The RF performance data is analyzed by a remote central server that provides RF adjustment data, which is indicative of power and equalization adjustments to the terminal device, power and equalization adjustments to the plurality of distribution elements, and power and ranging adjustments to the plurality of end point devices.
WIRELESS HOME NETWORK ROUTING PROTOCOL
A hierarchical wireless network is provided with a mesh backbone network portion and a switching tree network portion, The mesh backbone network portion includes first tier nodes each having at least one wireless link to another first tier node, The first tier nodes execute a link-state protocol for routing packets, The switching tree network portion includes second tier nodes each having a single wireless link to one first tier node and at least one wireless link to one third tier node, and third tier nodes each having a single wireless link to one second tier node. The second tier and the third tier nodes execute switching rules for switching packets,
REFLECTION-LESS IN-HOME NETWORK ADAPTER
A system includes an input and a plurality of outputs. The system also includes an in-home network adapter configured to connect to and be positioned between the input and the plurality of outputs. The system also includes a splitter configured to connect to and be positioned between the in-home network adapter and the plurality of outputs. The input is configured to receive signals in a first bandwidth and signals in a second bandwidth. The in-home network adapter is configured to allow the signals in the second bandwidth to pass from the input to the plurality of outputs and from the plurality of outputs to the input. The in-home network adapter is configured to attenuate or prevent the signals in the first bandwidth from passing from the input to the plurality of outputs, from the plurality of outputs to the input, or both.
Systems and methods for preemptively preventing interruptions from network-connected devices from occurring during media viewing
Systems and methods are provided herein for preventing interruptions to a media viewing activity caused by operations performed in a household by network-connected devices. A media guidance application may determine that operations are being performed by an IoT device and may cause an interruption to media viewing. The media guidance application may prevent the interruption by extending or otherwise handling the operation.

AI-BASED VIRTUAL PROXY NODES FOR INTENT RESOLUTION IN SMART AUDIO DEVICES
A system and method are disclosed that utilizes an artificial intelligence based virtual proxy node. The virtual proxy node includes an intent resolution model and communicates between a smart audio device and at least one secondary device, wherein the at least one secondary device is configured to be controlled by a smart audio device or smart hub. The virtual proxy node tracks interactions between the smart audio device and the at least one secondary device to derive historical and context data from the tracking interactions. The virtual proxy node uses the historical and context data to predict which secondary device will be successful in responding to the user input command and broadcasts the input command to the virtual proxy node associated with one of the at least one secondary device. The virtual proxy node includes an intent resolution model trained by historical and context data.
Devices, methods and systems to augment the security environment of internet-capable consumer devices
The application discloses an electronic operating device (100) arranged to protect communication between a consumer application (125) and a network-connected consumer device (300). The operating device protects a command message by signing the command message with a private key obtained from a key storage of the operating device (optionally also encrypting the command message with an encryption key), and sends the protected command message to the network controller (200). The network controller performs the verification of the signature of the command message such that legacy consumer devices without cryptographic capability can be used. The signature ensures that only authorised devices (100) can send commands to the consumer device (300).
ONBOARD APPARATUS, ONBOARD COMMUNICATION SYSTEM, AND COMMUNICATION CONTROL METHOD
Provided is an onboard apparatus configured to connect to an other onboard apparatus via a first transmission path and a second transmission path, which are transmission paths of different types, the onboard apparatus comprising a control unit; and a transmission unit configured to transmit communication information to the other onboard apparatus, wherein the control unit, depending on contents of the communication information, selects at least one from among the first transmission path and the second transmission path as the transmission path to use to transmit the communication information and causes the transmission unit to transmit the communication information via a selected transmission path.
Device, system, and method of wirelessly controlling electronic devices and appliances
Devices, systems, and methods of wirelessly controlling appliances and electronic devices, such as ceiling fans, air conditioners, garage doors, or the like. A receive-only garage door system is wirelessly controlled by a proprietary remote control unit. A cloning unit is able to clone or duplicate the proprietary wireless signal, and to replay it or re-generate it in response to a triggering command that a user submitted via a smartphone or tablet; thereby enabling to control such garage door system via mobile electronic devices. The cloning unit utilizes recording of the wireless signal payload and carrier frequency; wireless signal analysis; image analysis of the appliance or of the remote control unit; queries to a remote server to obtain properties of the proprietary wireless signal; or other techniques of signal analysis or duplication.
SYSTEM AND METHOD USING ONE OR MORE SMART DEVICES TO DETERMINE INDIVIDUAL CONSUMPTION THROUGH NETWORK MONITORING
An apparatus for determining individual consumption for a plurality of users through computer network monitoring. The apparatus comprises a memory and a processor. The processor is configured to receive data from one or more smart devices associated with a first user and a second user through data streaming between the one or more smart devices and a server. The processor is further configured to determine that a first home associated with the first user and a second home associated with a second user are located within a distance threshold from each other based, at least in part, on geolocation information. The processor is further configured to determine that the first user and the second user are comparable peers. The processor is further configured to determine that an individual consumption of one of the comparable peers is greater than an average total consumption and to transmit an alert.
