A relay device relays a management frame between nodes connected to mutually different communication buses. The relay device includes (i) communicator units provided respectively to correspond to the communication buses, and (ii) communication controller units provided respectively to correspond to the communicator units. The communication controller unit respectively includes a corresponding transmission buffer configured to store the management frame, which is to be transmitted from the communicator unit corresponding to the communication controller unit. In response to determining that the management frame is retained in the transmission buffer corresponding to the communication controller unit, the communication controller unit transmits the management frame, which is received at a present time and stored in the transmission buffer, from the communicator unit corresponding to the communication controller unit.

A fraud-detection ECU connected to the second network acquires the updated rule information and updates the rule information stored therein by using the updated rule information.

Clock control to increase robustness of a serial bus interface

An electronic control unit (ECU) includes a processor, a Controller Area Network (CAN) controller, clock gating logic, and security gating logic. The CAN controller having a status and configured to receive data and control signals from the processor, and a clock signal, package the data to create a CAN protocol frame held in at least one transmit buffer, and shift the CAN protocol frame to a CAN transceiver that is configured to transmit the CAN protocol frame to a CAN bus. The security gating logic configured to, in response to the status of the CAN controller being active, inhibit disabling the clock signal.

An I3C master receives a max read length and a max write length from an I3C slave. Then, when transmitting/receiving data to/from the I3C slave, the I3C master controls transmission/reception of the data so that the data to be transferred in one data transfer has a data length equal to or shorter than the max read length and the max write length, and transmits transfer length information indicating the data length of the data to be transferred, prior to data transfer of the data.
