TRAFFIC FLOW SPLITTING METHOD AND APPARATUS
20180014226 · 2018-01-11 · ·

Embodiments of the present invention provide a traffic flow splitting method and apparatus. In a process of accessing a 3GPP network by UE, an eNB in the 3GPP network sends a first multiflow aggregation instruction to the UE, to instruct the UE to establish a first multiflow aggregation channel between the UE and the eNB via a non-3GPP network. The UE establishes the first multiflow aggregation channel. The first multiflow aggregation channel is used for transmitting a part of data in a downlink traffic flow for the UE, where the part of data is offloaded to the non-3GPP network for transmission, and other data in the downlink traffic flow is offloaded to a 3GPP channel for transmission. In the method, different data packets in a same traffic flow can be simultaneously transmitted in the 3GPP network and the non-3GPP network.

Method and system for generating durable host identifiers using network artifacts

A host identification engine receives network traffic from a network and uses one or more artifact extractors to extract artifact data items that can identify a host. The artifact data items can be stored in a host signature database. Network addresses to which the hosts correspond can be stored in a network address database. A mapping table can be implemented to match the data in the signature database and network database to generate durable host identification data that can accurately track hosts as they use different identification data and/or move between hosts.

Facilitating in-device coexistence between wireless communication technologies

A method for facilitating in-device coexistence between wireless communication technologies on a wireless communication device is provided. The method can include transmitting data traffic from the wireless communication device via an aggressor wireless communication technology; determining occurrence of an in-device interference condition resulting from transmission of the data traffic via the aggressor wireless communication technology interfering with concurrent data reception by the wireless communication device via a victim wireless communication technology; and reducing a bit rate of the data traffic transmitted via the aggressor wireless communication technology in response to the in-device interference condition.

Method and an apparatus to perform multi-connection traffic analysis and management

A method and an apparatus to perform multi-connection traffic analysis and management are described. In one embodiment, the method includes analyzing data packets in the first data flow of a client application for a pattern of interest, where the client application communicates data using first and second data flows. In response to the method detecting a pattern of interest in the first data flow, the method identifies the second data flow and identifies a traffic policy for the second data flow. The method applies the identified traffic policy to the second data flow. Other embodiments have been claimed and described.

System and method for resource management in heterogeneous wireless networks

A system and method for resource management in a heterogeneous wireless network wherein the resources of the mobile communications system are managed on a coarse time-scale and a fine time-scale. The coarse time-scale management comprises a first stage of determining the user association for each of the plurality of TPs followed by a second stage of determining activation fractions for all TPs. The determining of the user association is performed by utilizing a GLS procedure having a Greedy Stage and a Local Search Stage. In the Greedy Stage, new user, TP pairs are analyzed and the pair with the greatest improvement in system utility is selected. In the Local Search Stage, potential swaps are analyzed and a pair offering the greatest improvement that exceeds a threshold is selected. The determining of activation fractions for all TPs is performed by utilizing an auxiliary function method.

System and method for ordering of data transferred over multiple channels

A multiple channel data transfer system (10) includes a source (12) that generates data packets with sequence numbers for transfer over multiple request channels (14). Data packets are transferred over the multiple request channels (14) through a network (16) to a destination (18). The destination (18) re-orders the data packets received over the multiple request channels (14) into a proper sequence in response to the sequence numbers to facilitate data processing. The destination (18) provides appropriate reply packets to the source (12) over multiple response channels (20) to control the flow of data packets from the source (12).

A 10GBASE-T circuit is disclosed. The circuit includes a physical (PHY) integrated circuit and a media access control (MAC) integrated circuit. The PHY couples to a data transfer medium and carries out data transfers at a PHY data rate. The MAC integrated circuit controls access to the date transfer medium and couples to the PHY via a bidirectional link operating at a MAC data rate. Rate control logic detects the PHY data rate, and adjusts the MAC data rate to the PHY data rate. Changes to the PHY and MAC data rates may be made at rates higher than 1 Gbps.
