Embodiments of the present disclosure describe methods, apparatuses, and systems for enhanced control signaling using full-duplex communication in wireless communication networks. A base station may schedule a first user equipment (UE) for primary access to a set of time-frequency resources in a first communication direction (e.g., uplink or downlink). The base station may additionally schedule a second UE for secondary access to the same set of time-frequency resources in a second communication direction that is the opposite of the first communication direction. The secondary access may be used to communicate supplemental control information, such as a channel quality indicator (CQI) and/or modulation and coding scheme (MCS) feedback, hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback, and/or multiple input multiple output (MIMO) feedback (e.g., including a rank indicator (RI) and/or a pre-coding matrix indicator (PMI). Generating a channel state informal ion (CSI) feedback report is provided. A set of reference signals is received (1302). A plurality of entries that are included in the CSI feedback report are computed (1304), where the entries of the CSI feedback report include at leas: a set of coefficients (1306). Each coefficient is associated with at least one or more of a spatial domain basis index, frequency domain basis index, and a layer index (1308). The plurality of entries of the CSI feedback report are arranged (1310) in an order known to both the user equipment and the network entity. The plurality of entries of the CSI feedback report are prioritized using predefined permutations of the indices (1314).

In one embodiment, a method performed by a communication device, includes: associating a time slot with a data packet comprising a head portion and a tail portion, wherein the head portion comprises a communication device identifier and the tail portion comprises user data associated with the head portion; spreading the head portion into a first predetermined transmission format; spreading the tail portion into a second predetermined transmission format; and transmitting the spreaded head portion with the spreaded tail portion to a communication node, wherein the spreaded head portion comprises information to be used by the communication node for channel estimation and for decoding the tail portion to retrieve the user data.

Group-based unequal MCS schemes for a single user station in WLAN transmissions

Systems and methods of transmitting a PPDU to or from a single user station (STA) in an MIMO transmission by using unequal MCSs. An access point (AP) allocates a plurality of spatial streams to the STA and assigned them into groups for the MIMO transmission. Multiple unequal MCSs are assigned to the different spatial stream groups. Correspondingly the STA ID is repeatedly specified in the user block fields of a SIG-B field of a downlink PPDU, or in the user information fields of a trigger frame. Alternatively, multiple AIDs of the STA can be specified in the user block fields or the user information fields instead of repeating the same STA ID. An indication may be inserted in the SIG-A field to indicate that the grouped-based unequal MCSs scheme is used for the MIMO transmission.

A radio transmitting device and method enables reduction of an increase of CGI memories for the control channel and an improvement of the throughput of the data channel. When multiplex transmission through the control channel and the data channel is carried out and when adaptive modulation is applied to both channels, an MCS selecting section is provided with one CQI table for the data channel and CQI tables for the control channel, and a table selecting MCS determining section selects one of the tables depending on the transmission bandwidth of the terminal and determines the MCS of the control channel while looking up the selected CQI table.

The digital video communications device includes a scalable video coding (SVC) controller including an encoder and associated block equalizer. The encoder is configured to receive digital video, and encode received digital video into a plurality of related streams including a base layer having a first modulation type, and scaled enhancement layers having different modulation types. The block equalizer is configured to generate a waveform by sequentially interleaving the plurality of related streams with equalizer probes. The digital video transmission approach allows the receiver to automatically provide the best video quality that the channel will support without negotiation with the transmitter.

Multiplexed Unequal Error Protection for Wireless Networks

Multiplexed unequal error protection for wireless networks is disclosed. A device may determine reliability associated with a first subcarrier of a channel including the first subcarrier and at least one second subcarrier. The reliability of the first subcarrier may be determined based on the position of the first subcarrier relative to each at least one second subcarrier. High priority data may be assigned to the first subcarrier for transmission if the first subcarrier is determined to have a higher reliability than the at least one second subcarrier. For example, the channel may be an orthogonal frequency division multiplexed (OFDM) channel and higher reliability may be associated with a first subcarrier that is in a middle position of the plurality of subcarriers within the OFDM channel. In another example, higher reliability may be associated with a first OFDM subcarrier that is adjacent to an unused OFDM channel bandwidth.
