Disclosed example apparatus are to obtain a plurality of Internet Protocol addresses assigned to a media device associated with a panel member. Disclosed example apparatus are also to determine a most used Internet Protocol address from the plurality of Internet Protocol addresses, determine a geographic location corresponding to the most used Internet Protocol address, associate a geographic area with the media device in response to a determination that the geographic location corresponds to a location of an internet service provider, determine a demographic profile associated with the geographic area, and associate the demographic profile with the media device.

Implementing service function chains

Methods and apparatus are disclosed for configuring one or more processors to implement service function chains comprising one or more virtualised service functions. A method according to one aspect, performed by a processing module (330) implemented on one or more processors (30), involves steps being performed in respect of at least one new virtualised service function (33) to be included in a service function chain of: determining a position in the service function chain at which the new virtualised service function (33) is to be included; allocating at least one internal address to the new virtualised service function, the at least one internal address being an address to be usable by a switching processor (34); and providing to the switching processor (34) an indication of the at least one internal address allocated to the new virtualised service function (33).

Method to provide broadcast/multicast support in public cloud

Techniques and architecture are described for providing broadcast/multicast support using VXLAN in and among private on-premises/cloud networks and public cloud networks by defining peer groups comprising VXLAN tunnel endpoints (VTEPs) within clustered network security devices. For example, a static peer group comprising two or more virtual extensible local access network (VXLAN) tunnel end points (VTEPs) is defined. The two or more VTEPs may each comprise a data interface of a network security device. Based at least in part on the static peer group, an overlay network comprising the two or more VTEPs is defined. A network security device discovers available VTEPs within the static peer group. The network security device establishes a mesh network of available VTEPs.

Methods and apparatus to prevent illicit proxy communications from affecting a monitoring result

Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture to prevent illicit proxy communications from affecting a monitoring result are disclosed. An example method includes accessing a log of communications of a proxy server, the log of communications including a plurality of records, each of the plurality of records corresponding to a requesting device that transmitted a communication to the proxy server, identifying a first internet protocol (IP) address subnet in the log of communications, the first IP address subnet associated with a block of IP addresses, filtering the plurality of records for a first set of records associated with communications originating from the first IP address subnet, and in response to determining the first set of records does not include a record associated with a heartbeat communication, adding the first IP address subnet to a blacklist of the proxy server.

Method, Apparatus and Device for Determining Cluster Network Card, and Readable Storage Medium
20220407839 · 2022-12-22 ·

A method, apparatus and device for determining a cluster network card, and a computer readable storage medium. The method comprises: reading a network segment of a Cluster IP from a configuration file of a current node; determining the type of the network segment of the Cluster IP by means of an address string in the network segment of the Cluster IP; obtaining an IP and a network card corresponding to the type of the network segment of the Cluster IP on the current node; and calculating the network segment of each IP, determining the IP corresponding to the network segment with the same address string as a Cluster IP, and determining the network card where the IP is located as a cluster network card. According to the disclosure, the IP corresponding to the network segment with the same address string in the network segments of the Cluster IP is determined as the Cluster IP, and the network card where the IP is located is determined as the cluster network card, so that the cluster network card can be automatically and accurately found according to the configuration file.

Method for Robust Communication Between Nodes That Are Adjacent At Layer 3

A method for communication between nodes, where the method includes: constructing, by a first Layer 3 node, a link local control frame; adding, by the first Layer 3 node, a destination group Media Access Control (MAC) address to the link local control frame, wherein the destination group MAC address is outside a block of destination group MAC addresses assigned for Ethernet bridging purposes; and transmitting, by the first Layer 3 node, the link local control frame to a second Layer 3 node.

BATCH ASSIGNMENT OF IP ADDRESSES IN A BUILDING CONTROL NETWORK

A method of assigning IP addresses to devices of a building control network includes receiving a selection of selected devices of a plurality of devices from a user interface. The selected devices are displayed in a predetermined order on a display. A proposed static IP address for a first device in the predetermined order of the selected devices is received from the user interface. A static IP address is sequentially assigned to each of the selected devices following the first device in accordance with the predetermined order, assuming the subnet mask has been confirmed as valid. The selected devices in the predetermined order along with the assigned static IP addresses for each of the selected devices are displayed on the display. The assigned static IP address for each of the selected devices are downloaded to the corresponding one of the selected devices.

EXTENDING CLOUD-BASED VIRTUAL PRIVATE NETWORKS TO USER EQUIPMENT ON RADIO-BASED NETWORKS

Disclosed are various embodiments for extending cloud-based virtual private networks to user equipment on radio-based networks. In one embodiment, a request is received from a client device for service from a radio-based network. The client device is provided with access to a virtual private cloud network through the radio-based network in response to receiving the request from the client device for service from the radio-based network. Encapsulated network traffic is forwarded from the client device to the virtual private cloud network via a network link between the radio-based network and a cloud provider network that hosts one or more resources on the virtual private cloud network.

SMART SERVICE DISCOVERY TO INTERCONNECT CLUSTERS HAVING OVERLAPPING IP ADDRESS SPACE

An approach to establish connections between clusters having overlapping IP address ranges. A method includes receiving, at a service discovery server, from a first node in a first cluster, a service discovery request including a unique name, determining, at the service discovery server, that the unique name resolves to a destination IP address of a second node in a second cluster, determining that the destination IP address overlaps with an IP address range associated with the first cluster, in response to determining that the destination IP address overlaps with the IP address range belonging to the first cluster, configuring a gateway to expect a network connection request from the first node that includes an IP address of the gateway, and sending a service discovery response to the first node, the service discovery response including the IP address of the gateway, but not the destination IP address.

20230144515 · 2023-05-11 ·

An electronic device for processing real-time-streaming-protocol (RTSP) packets in a network to provide enhanced video-on-demand (VOD) services is provided. The electronic device includes a user interface, a non-transitory memory configured to store instructions including an application layer gateway (ALG) module and network service software, and a hardware processor. The hardware processor is configured to execute the instructions to store a list of mac-bridge clients that includes a MAC address and a MAC mask corresponding to each mac-bridge client, and determine whether at least one of the source and destination MAC address of a received RTSP packet is on the list. When at least one of the source and destination MAC address is on the list, the RTSP packet is processed using the network service software and a next RTSP packet is received; otherwise, the received RTSP packet is processed using the ALG module.
