Peak reduction tone allocation

A user equipment for wireless communications includes a memory configured to store a peak reduction tone (PRT) table and a processor configured to retrieve a plurality of PRT sequences from the PRT table. The plurality of PRT sequences includes a first PRT sequence based upon a first data rate and a second PRT sequence based upon a second data rate. The second data rate is larger than the first data rate, and the second PRT sequence is a subset of the first PRT sequence. The user equipment also includes a power amplifier operable to transmit data with the first PRT sequence according to the first data rate or with the second PRT sequence according to the second data rate.

According to one embodiment, a method for transmitting an uplink signal includes transmitting the uplink signal including a block of data symbols. The block of data symbols are mapped to at least two sets of subcarrier blocks. Each data symbol of the block of data symbols is mapped to one of subcarriers of the at least two sets of subcarrier blocks. The at least two sets of subcarrier blocks are not contiguous in frequency. The block of data symbols are mapped in sequence starting with a first data symbol to the at least two sets of subcarrier blocks and in increasing order of subcarrier index.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In one example, a transmitting device may identify first and second portions of data to include in a data transmission. The transmitting device may encode the second portion by a configuration of a first subset of resource elements. The transmitting device may transmit, via the data transmission, first signals representative of the first portion over the first subset and one or more second signals over a second subset of resource elements. A receiving device may receive the data transmission and may identify that the one or more second signals include content other than data of the data transmission. The receiving device may decode the first signals in order to identify the first portion and the configuration in order to identify the second portion. The receiving device may refrain from decoding the one or more second signals based on the identifying.

Aspects described herein relate to adding a set of redundant subcarriers to a set of data subcarriers to be transmitted in a unique-word orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (UW-OFDM) waveform, interleaving, based on a permutation matrix, the set of redundant subcarriers with the set of data subcarriers to generate a permutation of subcarriers, mapping the permutation of subcarriers as input to an inverse fast Fourier transform (IFFT), and generating the UW-OFDM waveform based on output of the IFFT. Other aspects relate to receiving and processing the UW-OFDM waveform.

Method for determining reserved tones and transmitter for performing parr reduction using tone reservation

A method of determining reserved tones to be used for reduction of a peak to average power ratio (PAPR) of a signal includes: randomly selecting carrier indices for the reserved tones and generating a kernel signal based on the randomly selected carrier indices; calculating a comparison reference average value of the kernel signal, comparing the calculated comparison reference average value with a prestored comparison reference average value, and preliminarily determining carrier indices of the reserved tones based on the comparison; randomly re-arranging an order of the preliminarily determined carrier indices of the reserved tones; and calculating the comparison reference average value while changing each of the re-arranged indices of the reserved tones, and finally determining carrier indices for which the calculated comparison reference average value becomes the smallest value as carrier indices of the reserved tones.

TONE RESERVATION WITH PAPR REDUCTION SIGNAL ON ONLY REAL OR IMAGINARY PART OF EACH RESERVED TONE
20230216721 · 2023-07-06 ·

A transmitter node is disclosed for reducing Peak to Average Power Ratio, PAPR. The transmitter node comprises circuitry configured to cause the transmitter node to transmit, to a receiver node, data in OFDM symbols. For one OFDM symbol, a real part of a first data symbol transmitted on a first subcarrier and an imaginary part of a second data symbol transmitted on a second subcarrier, different from the first subcarrier, are reserved for transmission of a PAPR reducing signal. Resource locations of the first data symbol and of the second data symbol are determined based on preconfigured reservation rules.

Peak reduction tone allocation techniques

A transmitting device communicates with a receiving device an indication to apply PAPR reduction for a data transmission. The transmitting device applies a first PAPR reduction signal and a second PAPR reduction signal to the data transmission to reduce at least one signal peak of the data transmission to yield a transmission signal, where the first PAPR reduction signal includes a first set of PRTs that does not overlap with data tones and the second PAPR reduction includes a second set of PRTs that overlaps with the data tones and does not overlap with reserved tones. The transmitting device transmits the transmission signal to the receiving device.
