Techniques for managing SCIM-compliant systems

The present disclosure describes techniques for using instances of a connector to communicate with multiple target systems without a manual pre-configuration step for each of the multiple target systems. The connector may be an extensible program-code-template for creating objects to perform one or more operations. For example, each instance of the connector may obtain information regarding a corresponding target system, determine an interface to the corresponding target system based on the information, and translate requests for the corresponding target system according to the interface.

Monitoring system and method for connecting a monitoring device to a service server
11595351 · 2023-02-28 · ·

Methods for configuring a monitoring device to communicate with a service server are provided. The method includes the monitoring device sending a message including a code used for authentication of the monitoring device to a control server, receiving one or more addresses of a service server associated with the monitoring device from the control server in response to the monitoring device being authenticated by the control server, storing the one or more addresses retrieved by the control server, and establishing a connection between the monitoring device and the service server using at least one of the one or more addresses received from the control server.

SYSTEM AND APPARATUS OF A SOFTWARE-SERVICE-DEFINED-NETWORK (SSDN)
20180006929 · 2018-01-04 ·

A network apparatus for a network software service layer (NSSL) service bus. The network apparatus includes a memory storing executable instructions and a processor coupled to the memory, the processor executing the executable instructions, where the processor is configured to receive a service description comprising a named service and a network identifier identifying a network node associated with the named service, select a service description according to the named service, and transmit a named service request to the network node according to the service description selected.

BUILDING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM WITH AUTOMATIC EQUIPMENT DISCOVERY AND EQUIPMENT MODEL DISTRIBUTION

A building management system includes a communications bus, and devices coupled to the communications bus. The devices are coupled to the communications bus and configured to communicate on the communications bus using a master-slave token passing protocol. A first one of the devices has an active node table stored therein. The active node table includes multiple nodes. Each node represents one of the devices participating in a token passing ring used to exchange information among the devices via the communications bus using the master-slave token passing protocol. The first device is configured to monitor the active node table for new nodes and to identify a new device communicating on the communications bus in response to a determination that the active node table includes a new node.

System and method for distributing user interface device configurations
11563841 · 2023-01-24 · ·

A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a system having a controller to collect a plurality of User Interface (UI) device configurations, receive a request from a computing device to download one or more of the plurality of UI device configurations, and transmit to the computing device the one or more UI device configurations requested to configure one or more UI devices of the computing device. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Demand/Response Mechanism in a Wireless Sensor Network
20230232137 · 2023-07-20 ·

A wireless sensor network at a monitored location can be configured to generate sensor channel(s) of data to assess operational conditions at the monitored location. Inputs based on the sensor channel(s) of data are provided to a host system for analysis of a demand to one or more resources at the monitored location. Response messages can be generated based on the demand analysis and transmitted to actuator(s) at the monitored location to effect an adjustment to the operational conditions.

Systems and methods for automatic device detection, device management, and remote assistance

In some embodiments, a network regulator device protects a local network of client systems (e.g. Internet-of-things devices such as smartphones, home appliances, wearables, etc.) against computer security threats. When introduced to the local network, some embodiments of network regulator take over some network services from a router, and automatically install the network regulator as gateway to the local network. The network regulator then carries out an automatic device discovery procedure and distribute device-specific utility agents to the protected client systems. An exemplary utility agent detects when its host device has left the local network, and in response, sets up a virtual private network (VPN) tunnel with a security server to maintain protection of the respective device.

Configuration for multi-stage network fabrics

A method includes deploying a network device within a fabric having a management network by attaching the network device through the management network to a port of a role allocator, wherein the role allocator includes one or more ports designated as first level port connections and one or more other ports designated as second level port connections. If the deployed network device is attached to one of the ports designated as first level port connections, the deployed network device is configured as a first level device. If the deployed network device is attached to one of the ports designated as second level port connections, the deployed network device is configured as a second level device.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR RADIO UNIT BACKUP CONNECTIONS
20230225010 · 2023-07-13 ·

When a failed connection is detected from a first radio unit (RU) to the cellular site router (CSR), activation of an existing backup cabled connection from the first RU to the CSR through a cabled connection between the first RU and a second RU of the cellular telecommunications tower may be performed. In one example, a first RU and second RU each have two physical network ports. The activation of the existing backup cabled connection from the first RU, via the second RU, to the CSR may include causing the first RU to enter from a normal operating mode into an Open Radio Access Network (O-RAN) cascade operating mode to attempt to attain network connectivity for the first RU using the second physical network port of the first RU.

User generated pluggable content delivery network (CDN) system and method

A pluggable CDN system and method include an edge node that is installed at each premises and caches/serves content/data to that premises that may be an individual user or a community. The edge node may use a hybrid push/pull caching scheme and may serve data to users even without any Internet connectivity.
