Automated local scaling of compute instances
At a first compute instance run on a virtualization host, a local instance scaling manager is launched. The scaling manager determines, based on metrics collected at the host, that a triggering condition for redistributing one or more types of resources of the first compute instance has been met. The scaling manager causes virtualization management components to allocate a subset of the first compute instance's resources to a second compute instance at the host.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DISTRIBUTIVE FLOW CONTROL AND BANDWIDTH MANAGEMENT IN A NETWORK
A method and system for distributive flow control and bandwidth management in networks is disclosed. The method includes: providing multiple Internet Protocol (IP) Gateways (IPGWs) that each have a maximum send rate and one or more sessions with associated throughput criteria, wherein each IPGW performs flow control by limiting information flows by the respective maximum send rate and throughput criteria; providing multiple Code Rate Organizers (CROs) that each have a bandwidth capacity, wherein each CRO performs bandwidth allocation of its respective bandwidth capacity to one or more IPGWs of the multiple IPGWs; interconnecting the multiple IPGWs with the multiple CROs; and performing bandwidth management across the multiple CROs and IPGWs. In the method, an IPGW of the multiple IPGWs provides flow control across a plurality of the CROs of the multiple CROs, and a CRO of the multiple CROs allocates bandwidth to a plurality of the IPGWs of the multiple IPGWs.
Techniques for excess resource utilization
Techniques to utilize excess resources in a cloud system, such as by enabling an auxiliary resource utilizer to use resources while they are not needed to support primary resource utilizers, are described herein. Some embodiments are directed to identifying and allocating excess capacity of resources in a cloud system to auxiliary resource utilizers based on one or more policies. In various embodiments, excess resources in one or more of the set of resources in the cloud system, or cloud resources, may be determined based on monitoring utilization of the cloud resources by the primary resource utilizers. In many embodiments, an auxiliary resource utilizer that is in compliance with a set of utilization policies may be identified and the excess resources may be allocated to the auxiliary resource utilizer.
Method and system for changing resource state, terminal, and storage medium
The present disclosure discloses a method and apparatus for changing a resource state, a terminal, and a storage medium, which belong to the field of smart home. A system for changing a resource state that includes a first collection resource, a first intermediate-level resource, and leaf node resources can be established. By making the first collection resource obtain link information of each leaf node resource whose resource state needs to be changed, a request that includes a default interface of the leaf node resource may be generated for the leaf node resource, such that a state of the leaf node resource can be changed accurately by the system. Therefore, the present disclosure enables the control request issued by a client to be recognized and executed by each leaf node resource, thereby increasing reliability and stability of system control.
Load adaptation architecture framework for orchestrating and managing services in a cloud computing system
According to one aspect of the concepts and technologies disclosed herein, a cloud computing system can include a load adaptation architecture framework that performs operations for orchestrating and managing one or more services that may operate within at least one of layers 4 through 7 of the Open Systems Interconnection (“OSI”) communication model. The cloud computing system also can include a virtual resource layer. The virtual resource layer can include a virtual network function that provides, at least in part, a service. The cloud computing system also can include a hardware resource layer. The hardware resource layer can include a hardware resource that is controlled by a virtualization layer. The virtualization layer can cause the virtual network function to be instantiated on the hardware resource so that the virtual network function can be used to support the service.
System and method for supporting a usage calculation process in a cloud infrastructure environment
Systems and methods described herein support a usage calculation process in a cloud infrastructure environment. The usage calculation process can be used to determine whether a requested transaction that targets a compartment within a tree-structure of compartments violates any compartment quota or limit within parent compartments within the tree-structure.
Technologies for assigning workloads to balance multiple resource allocation objectives
Technologies for allocating resources of managed nodes to workloads to balance multiple resource allocation objectives include an orchestrator server to receive resource allocation objective data indicative of multiple resource allocation objectives to be satisfied. The orchestrator server is additionally to determine an initial assignment of a set of workloads among the managed nodes and receive telemetry data from the managed nodes. The orchestrator server is further to determine, as a function of the telemetry data and the resource allocation objective data, an adjustment to the assignment of the workloads to increase an achievement of at least one of the resource allocation objectives without decreasing an achievement of another of the resource allocation objectives, and apply the adjustments to the assignments of the workloads among the managed nodes as the workloads are performed. Other embodiments are also described and claimed.
Integrated backhaul transport for 5Gs
A mechanism is disclosed operating a transport network function (TNF) as part of a fifth generation wireless (5G) virtualized control plane. The mechanism includes receiving a request to compute a traffic engineering (TE) path in a 5G transport network for a packet data unit (PDU) session, the request received from a 5G virtualized control plane function via a service based interface (SBI) bus. Network topology information for the 5G transport network is obtained via a northbound interface (Nn). A TE path across the 5G transport network is computed for the PDU session based on the network topology information. A TE path identifier for the TE path computed for the PDU session is returned via the SBI bus.
System and method for tag based request context in a cloud infrastructure environment
Systems and methods described herein support tag based request context in a cloud infrastructure environment. Cloud administrators do not generally have the ability to restrict resource usage in existing clouds. Granting a user permission to create resources allows them to create and/or terminate any number of resources up to a predefined account limit. Tags are associated with requests for resources for allowing administrators to restrict a user's handling of resources to the appropriate level by allowing fine-tuned control of access to the resources based on the context of the request for the resources. Request context information of the request is compared against a required credential gate level for permitting handling of resources in a tenancy having the first privilege level classification, and the request is selectively granted based on the request context information matching the first required credential gate level.
NETWORK OPERATION METHOD, APPARATUS, AND DEVICE AND STORAGE MEDIUM
Provided are a network operation method and apparatus, a device, and a storage medium. The network operation method includes that a management node receives virtualized network function information carrying at least one dynamic network change flag, where the at least one dynamic network change flag is used for indicating whether a dynamic network change is supported; and that the management node operates on a first-type network according to the virtualized network function information.
