SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SOCIAL MEDIA-BASED CONTENT RECOMMENDATIONS
Methods, systems, and computer program products are provided for recommending content based on content being engaged with by a user's social media contacts. For example, embodiments described herein advantageously provide a user with content recommendations that are based on what other people associated with the user (e.g., via a social media service) are consuming. For instance, content being engaged with by a user's social media contacts are monitored via multimedia devices utilized by the user and his contacts and/or are inferred via social media posts of the user's contacts. Once the content is determined, the user is provided with recommendations for that contact. The recommendations may be provided to the user while the user is watching content and/or browsing for content. The recommendations may also be provided based on periodicity of the media content.
System and method for naming a location based on user-specific information
A method, system, and device for naming a location at which a user is present with a mobile communication device, including retrieving general information relating to the location, the general information managed by or for an entity other than the user; comparing the retrieved general information relating the location to user-specific information managed by or for the user; identifying at least one atemporal correlation between the retrieved general information and the user-specific information; generating a plurality of names for the location based on the atemporal correlation between the retrieved general information and the user-specific information providing the plurality of names for the location for selection; and storing the name selected for the location from the plurality of names.
TECHNIQUE FOR EFFECTIVE ORGANIZATION AND COMMUNICATION OF INFORMATION
In a communication arrangement in accordance with the invention, a server is employed to collect and organize information for mobile device users according to the user profiles, e.g., personal profile, business profile, vacation profile, etc., which reflect different user personae. By using this arrangement, the user advantageously maintains only the necessary information in the mobile device and downloads any additional information from the server on an as needed basis. In addition, the server is capable of serving mobile devices which may be incompatible to one another, thereby facilitating an exchange of information between such devices. Moreover, with the server, incoming messages for the user are organized and stored according to the source of the messages and the user criteria established in the user profiles. Further, information in a mobile device may be organized using electronic information cards, referred to as “E-cards,” which facilitate, among others, transfer of information from the mobile device to the server, or other mobile devices to conduct various commercial and data transactions.
Dynamic voicemail receptionist system
A voicemail receptionist system includes a memory and a processor. The memory can store data relating to one or more users. An incoming communication can be handled by the voicemail receptionist system and provided with functionality based upon a user's preferences, for example. The data stored by the voicemail receptionist system can be updated at any time, or automatically updated upon updating of the data, or upon occurrence of a trigger event. Voicemail receptionist functionality can include standard voicemail system functionality as well as functionality relating to email, text messaging, MMS messaging, calendar features, schedule announcements, location data, as well as other features.
Method, apparatus and computer program product for providing automatic delivery of information to a terminal
An apparatus for providing automatic delivery of information to a terminal includes a communication element, a registry element and a proxy element. The communication element is configured to receive information corresponding to new content associated with a particular service. The registry element is configured to retrieve an identifier of an publisher associated with the particular service in response to receipt of the information. The proxy element is configured to push an indication of the new content to a receiving terminal having the identifier in a contact list of the receiving terminal in response to receipt of the information.
Unifying web and phone presence
The subject matter of this specification can be embodied in, among other things, a computer-implemented method that includes obtaining, at a computer system, a plurality of contact identifiers for a computer account holder, wherein the identifiers represent a plurality of different communication modes; identifying a handle for the account holder, wherein the handle is associated with a uniform resource locator; and correlating the handle with the plurality of contact identifiers, and storing the handle and plurality of contact identifiers together so as to permit retrieval of the contact identifiers in response to identification of the handle.
Multiple device and multiple line connected home and home monitoring
Systems, devices, and techniques for multiple device and multiple line enabled computing devices and computing appliances are described herein. A device number can be assigned to a computing device and can be unique to the computing device. A plurality of alias numbers can be provided to the computing device and enabled for use by the computing device. Alias numbers can be enabled on multiple computing appliances, such that a user can transfer voice or video calls between devices using the alias numbers. Further, monitoring components in a home environment, for example, can be associated with one or more alias number so that security alerts can be provided to the various computing devices and computing appliances associated with the alias numbers.
Selective Call Connection System With In-Flight Control
Systems and methods for selectively providing messages to users equipment (UEs) are disclosed. Different types of messages can be associated with different statuses for each UE based on user preferences, network settings, or plan parameters. UEs can be available to receive some types of messages, but not other types of messages, depending on the UE's current connection type, location, or plan parameters. Messages sent to multiple UEs associated with the same service account can be sent based on the availability of each UE to receive the message. Messages are not sent to UEs that are not available to receive that type of message. UEs connected to a common network can enable messaging services to other UEs associated with a common service account or network identity. Messaging services can be available despite each UEs availability to other types of messages.
Direct transmission of data between applications in a multi-tenant environment
Overhead of sending data from one application to another by doing input and output processing can be costly. The present invention provides a method of transmitting data with a low overhead between applications in a multi-tenant runtime environment. The multi-tenant runtime detects a connection between tenants, and then performs low-overhead data transmission mechanisms by cloning data from one tenant space to another tenant space, while keeping the data isolated for two tenants.
DYNAMICALLY UPDATING DISTRIBUTED CONTENT OBJECTS
A document object may be transmitted to a plurality of user devices. The document object may include at least one field for display of a content object of a group of content objects. The field may be associated with an identifier corresponding to the group of content objects. When the document object is accessed, then the access may trigger a request to a server, which may select a content object of the group of content objects using a content object identification function. The content object identification function may be dynamically updated based at least in part on the document object being accessed by one or more of the plurality of user devices. Responsive to the request, a unique content object identifier corresponding to the selected content object may be transmitted to the user device and displayed at the accessed document object.
