TECHNIQUES FOR DYNAMIC RESOLUTIONS

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may dynamically indicate a resolution change to a display of the UE during a video call. For example, a first UE may communicate a configuration message with a second UE to establish a video call between the first UE and the second UE and indicate a first value for a resolution of a display of the first UE. During the video call, the first UE may identify a change to the resolution of the display and may transmit a message to the second UE that indicates the change to the resolution. In response to receiving the message, the second UE may encode one or more packets including video information for the video call according to a second value for the resolution and transmit the one or more packets to the first UE.

Technologies for casting digital media content include a source computing device communicatively coupled to a destination computing device. The source computing device is configured to transmit a set of identifiers of the source computing device to the destination computing device and receive a set of identifiers of the destination computing device from the destination computing device. Each set of identifiers includes a version (e.g., hardware or software) associated with the respective computing device and a unique identifier of the respective computing device. The source computing device is additionally configured to determine a subset of casting session parameters from a set of casting session parameters based on the one or more capabilities of the destination computing device which are usable by the destination computing device to establish a casting session and stream digital media content in accordance with the subset of casting session parameters. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Just-in-Time Distributed Video Cache

A video optimizer receives a request to optimize a source file and stream the optimized file. The request may be accompanied by a key uniquely identifying the original source file to be optimized and an optimized version of the source file to stream to the client. The key uniquely identifies the source video file as it exists on an origin server to prevent transmission of modified source video and the optimized version of the source file by optimization parameters to ensure compatibility with the user device. The video optimizer queries a cache database in response to the received request, which contains references keys and locations of optimized source files among local caches in a cluster of video optimizers. The cache database responds indicates whether a matching optimized version of the source file exists in a local cache of a given video optimizer in the cluster.

Some demonstrative embodiments include devices, systems and/or methods to establish a connection to the Internet via a local gateway (L-GW) function for a LIPA or a SIPTO@LN. The establishment of the connection to the Internet may be performed, for example, by at least one of an E-RAB SETUP procedure, an INITIAL CONTEXT SETUP procedure, an INITIAL UE MESSAGE procedure or an UPLINK NAS TRANSPORT procedure.

Content appearance conversion for remote application sharing

A method, computer system, and a computer program product for application sharing are provided. Setting information that includes a display preference of a receiver is received. Application content from a host computer is received. The application content includes at least one screen image. The at least one screen image is converted according to the setting information. The converted screen image is transmitted to a receiver computer for real-time screen sharing with the host computer. A host controller action signal is received. The host controller action signal represents a host controller action at the host computer. A content modification is transmitted to the receiver computer for the real-time screen sharing and for displaying with the converted at least one screen image. The content modification corresponds to the host controller action.

Systems and methods for encoding and sharing content between devices

Systems and methods for sharing content between devices are disclosed. To request a shared piece of media content, a playback device generates and sends a request to content server. The playback device includes information in the request that indicates the playback capabilities of the device. The content server receives the request and determines the playback capabilities of the playback device from the information in the request. The content server then determines the assets that may be used by the playback device to obtain the media content and generates a top level index file for the playback device that includes information about the determined assets. The top level index file is then sent to the playback device that may then use the top level index file to obtain the media content using the indicated assets.

A content obtaining method includes: obtaining user behavioral data corresponding to the user terminal and to-be-displayed content on the user terminal; determining an exposure probability of the to-be-displayed content based on the user behavioral data; sending the exposure probability to the content server; and receiving target content fed back by the content server, where the target content is based on the exposure probability, and the target content is triggered by the content server after the content server receives a content obtaining request from the user terminal.

Porting locally processed media data with low latency to a remote client device via various wireless links

Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for porting locally processed media data with low latency to a remote client device via various wireless links are provided. In one example embodiment, a transceiver module may include a local network interface and a controller that may receive a client control signal from a client device over a wireless local area network via the local network interface, transmit a media control signal based on the client control signal to a media device, receive media data based on the media control signal from the media device, and transmit to the client device over the wireless local area network via the local network interface client data based on the media data and a low-latency compression technique. The receipt of the media data and transmission of the client data may be accomplished with substantially no detectable latency. Additional embodiments are also provided.

A web-based, online session system is provided in which a host server manages a multi-participant session. A plurality of participating devices may join the online session using a web-based interface and receive session content (e.g., video, audio, text, graphics, etc.) via the web-based interface. A user of a participating device may dynamically expand its resources/capabilities during an ongoing online session by adding accessory/supporting devices under its own participant account to the session. The added devices may communicate directly with the host server via a separate stream than the participating device. Additionally, the participating device may also transfer its complete participation in the online session to another device via the web-based interface.
