Frame parser executing subsets of instructions in parallel for processing a frame header

An integrated circuit (IC) may include a set of instruction list engines (ILEs) that execute in parallel, where each ILE stores a subset of a set of instructions for processing a header of a frame, and where each ILE generates an ILE result based on executing the subset of the set of instructions. The IC may include a circuit to determine a result of parsing the header of the frame based on merging ILE results generated by the set of ILEs.

Efficient packet classification for dynamic containers

A novel algorithm for packet classification that is based on a novel search structure for packet classification rules is provided. Addresses from all the containers are merged and maintained in a single Trie. Each entry in the Trie has additional information that can be traced back to the container from where the address originated. This information is used to keep the Trie in sync with the containers when the container definition dynamically changes.

Providing TCP/IP control commands to a storage system includes intercepting TCP/IP data provided on a TCP/IP network, determining if the TCP/IP data corresponds to a control command directed to the storage system, and converting the TCP/IP data to a Fibre Channel control command that is forwarded to the storage system if the TCP/IP data is a control command directed to the storage system. A host may intercept the TCP/IP data. The host may be coupled to the storage system. The storage system may have only Fibre Channel connectivity. A PC having only TCP/IP connectivity may provide the control commands via the TCP/IP network. At least two hosts may be coupled to the TCP/IP network. Software on one of the hosts may provide the control commands for the storage system. The storage system may be coupled to an other one of the hosts.

The base station further includes an adaptation unit configured to control transmission data packets between the baseband processing unit and at least one remote radio unit. The adaptation unit includes a buffer module and a communication module that is configured to determine if the buffer module includes at least one data packet to be transmitted at a scheduled instant of time, and in response to a detection that the at least one data packet is missing the communication module inserts padding data to the buffer module.
