Various components of an electronic device housing and methods for their assembly are disclosed. The housing can be formed by assembling and connecting two or more different sections together. The sections of the housing may be coupled together using one or more coupling members. The coupling members may be formed using a two-shot molding process in which the first shot forms a structural portion of the coupling members, and the second shot forms cosmetic portions of the coupling members.

A system for mounting an electronic device includes a socket and a stand, the stand having a ball portion. The socket and the ball portion include first magnetic material to hold the socket and the ball portion together in a position selected by a user, the socket further including a magnetic array, the magnetic array having magnetism to hold an electronic device to the socket. In one alternative, the first magnetic material is separate from the magnetic array.

A system for mounting an electronic device includes a socket and a stand, the stand having a ball portion. This disclosure describes a rotational coupling mechanism for releasably coupling a device to a mounting platform. In one example, a user may nest a device within the mounting platform and perform a single rotation of the nested device to toggle between a locked position and an unlocked position. The user may continue the single rotation of the nested device, in the same clockwise or anticlockwise direction, to toggle the device from the unlocked position and back to the locked position. In a locked position, the device is restricted from translation relative to the mounting platform, however, the device may continue to rotate in a clockwise or counterclockwise direction to toggle between a locked and unlocked position. In an unlocked position, the device may disengage freely from the mounting platform and is thus subsequently free to move in any translational direction or about any rotational axis.

The present technique provides a terminal case capable of mounting an external device thereon without detaching a case. A terminal case according to the present technique includes: a housing portion for housing a terminal in a state in which a display included in the terminal can be exposed; a mounted portion to which a gripping device including a gripping portion to be gripped by a user is mounted; and a communication portion for communicating between the terminal and the gripping device.

The present technique provides a terminal case capable of mounting an external device thereon without detaching a case. A terminal case according to the present technique includes: a housing portion for housing a terminal in a state in which a display included in the terminal can be exposed; a mounted portion to which a gripping device including a gripping portion to be gripped by a user is mounted; and a communication portion for communicating between the terminal and the gripping device.
