Telecommunications soft client having a GUI-less operating mode
The technology disclosed herein enables narration of occurrences in a telecommunications soft client operating in a GUI-less mode. In a particular embodiment, a method includes, in a user system, operating the telecommunications soft client in a first mode. In the first mode, the user system does not present a GUI to a user for the telecommunications soft client. A screen reader application is also executing on the user system. While in the first mode, the method includes audibly describing a first occurrence for the telecommunications soft client and receiving global user input into the telecommunications soft client. The screen reader application describes a second occurrence for a first application executing, and displaying an application window, on the user system.
SPEAKERPHONE CONFIGURATION FOR CONFERENCING
Aspects of the present disclosure relate to a speakerphone configuration for audio and/or video conferencing that includes a cavity underneath the speakerphone where cable ports are arranged. The arrangement of the cable ports are such that when a power plug is installed in the speakerphone, a telecommunication port is blocked, and vice versa. In addition, the port arrangement allows cables to attach to opposite walls in the cavity such that cables run parallel to each other within the cavity. The disclosed speakerphone may be daisy-chained together and function as a single unit. Therefore a speakerphone according to the disclosure may function as either a master unit, a mid unit, or an end unit in a string of speakerphones depending on how the speakerphone is wired. The port arrangement in the cavity increases ease for setup and daisy-chaining of multiple speakerphone units.
AUGMENTED IMAGING ASSISTANCE FOR VISUAL IMPAIRMENT
Systems, apparatuses, services, platforms, and methods are discussed herein that provide assistance for user interface devices. In one example, an assistance application is provided comprising an imaging system configured to capture an image of a scene, an interface system configured to provide data associated with the image to a distributed assistance service that responsively processes the data to recognize properties of the scene and establish feedback for a user based at least on the properties of the scene, and a user interface configured to provide the feedback to the user.
MOBILE WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS DEVICE WITH SPEECH TO TEXT CONVERSION AND RELATED METHODS
A communications device and method are provided for converting speech to text and applying corrections to the text. The communications device may include at least one audio interface, such a microphone and/or speaker, and at least one communications subsystem, as well as a controller or processor operative to receive speech input using the at least one audio interface, convert the speech input to input text, correct the input text to corrected text, and send the corrected text over a network using the communications subsystem. The corrected text may involve the application of proposed modification, such as a grammatical correction or ambiguity resolution, to the input text. The application of the proposed modification may be based upon the receipt of an instruction to accept or reject the proposed correction or resolution. The instruction may be a spoken instruction.

APPARATUS FOR BRAILLE INPUT AND METHOD THEREOF
A braille input device includes a keypad having a plurality of keys. The keypad includes: three left side corresponding keys corresponding to three dots disposed at a left side column of braille; three right side corresponding keys corresponding to three dots disposed at a right side column of braille; a plurality of left side multi keys, each left side multi key corresponding to two or more keys among the left side corresponding keys; and a plurality of right side multi keys, each right side multi key corresponding to two or more keys among the right side corresponding keys.
