Systems and methods for users to receive and/or reply to information affiliated with communication attempts while remaining substantially disconnected from mobile electronic device(s) and/or networks
The invention generally relates to systems and methods that enable processor readable instruction(s) (e.g., an un-wired algorithm, an un-wired application, an un-wired services, etc.), stored in processor readable media(s), to be accessed and/or processed on mobile electronic devices (e.g., “mobile phones”) and/or networks such that, for example, when activated by user(s) and/or authorized parties, the mobile electronic device's alert (e.g., audiovisual alert, vibrator, etc.) can be deactivated. Further, when the un-wired application is activated customizable replies can automatically and/or substantially automatically be communicated in response to missed communication attempts (e.g., voice calls, video calls, texts, e-mail, etc.).
COMMUNICATION APPARATUS MOUNTED WITH SPEECH SPEED CONVERSION DEVICE
In a communication apparatus, an encoder compresses telephone call voice which is transmitted from another communication apparatus. A voice accumulator preserves the telephone call voice, which is compressed by the encoder, as a message. A decoder expands the telephone call voice which is preserved in the voice accumulator. A signal memory temporarily maintains the telephone call voice which is expanded by the decoder. A speech speed convertor performs speech speed conversion on the telephone call voice, which is read from the signal memory, and outputs resulting voice from a speaker. A memory monitor temporarily stops to expand the telephone call voice in the decoder in a case where the memory monitor determines that an idle capacity of the signal memory approaches a predetermined lower limit value.
Message management and notification system
Systems and methods provide a resident of a controlled-environment facility with voice messaging. The facility provides the resident with voice communication services. In response to a request by a resident for a voice communication with a non-resident, a call request to the non-resident may be initiated. In certain scenarios, the non-resident is unable to accept the call request. If a voice message is authorized, the resident is allowed to record a voice message for the non-resident. Certain restrictions may limit the resident to selecting from automated voice messages. A notification of the recorded voice message is dispatched to the non-resident. The notification identifies a unique link that directs the non-resident to a voice message retrieval system that allows the resident to retrieve and listen to the voice message recorded by the resident. The voice message recording remains under the control of the controlled-environment facility based on applicable security policies and procedures.
Information system with detachable information module
A unitary handheld portable module includes a keypad for entering data and a display for displaying data. A base module is configured to be coupled with and communicate through a telephone line and includes a keypad for dialing a telephone number and a display for displaying information. The portable and base modules are configured to have a mounted configuration in which the portable module is removably mounted on the base module and covers the base module's display, and the modules communicate with each other for the portable module's display to display information relating to operation of the base module.
Visual voice mail application variations
A voicemail application includes a first stage having a first voicemail and at a first position, a second stage having a second voicemail and at a second position adjacent to the first position, and a third stage having a third voicemail and at a third position adjacent to the second position. The voicemail application also includes a playback control configured to cause playback of any voicemail associated with any stage at the first position. The voicemail application increases the surface area of a stage as that stage is brought to the first position while the surface area of the stage previously at the first position decreases.
COMMUNICATION TERMINAL DEVICE, COMMUNICATION SYSTEM, COMMUNICATION METHOD, RECORDING MEDIUM FOR TRANSMITTING SPEECH DATA
A microphone receives speech data to be transmitted. A business wireless communication unit transmits the received speech data. A processing unit causes a storage unit to store the speech data and time information for identifying blocks produced by dividing the received speech data into a plurality of blocks. The business wireless communication unit receives a request signal for requesting transmission of the speech data stored in the storage unit, the request signal including the time information. The processing unit acquires from the storage unit the speech data for the block identified based on the time information included in the received request signal, and causes the business wireless communication unit to transmit the acquired speech data.
COMMUNICATION TERMINAL, AND INCOMING CALL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM, METHOD, AND DEVICE
A communication terminal, capable of making a voice call to a call destination designated in accordance with a call instruction, includes a memory and a processor that reads and executes instructions stored by the memory. The processor, when the call instruction is detected, performs voice call processing on the call destination and performs data transmission processing that transmits identifying information to an address associated with the call destination.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SCANNING INFORMATION FROM STORAGE AREA CONTENTS
The present invention is related to methods and systems for collected item information for stored items. In one embodiment, a networked food storage system comprises a first sensor configured to read information from item tags coupled to items, wherein the items are stored or intended to be stored in a storage unit. A data store is configured to store food preferences for at least a first user. Instructions, stored in computer readable memory, are configured to: cause a first user interface to be displayed to the first user via which the first user can request a meal suggestion; retrieve preference information for the first user from computer readable memory; retrieve information read from at least a first item tag; and provide a meal suggestion based at least in part on preference information for the first user and item tag information.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR USERS TO RECEIVE AND/OR REPLY TO INFORMATION AFFILIATED WITH COMMUNICATION ATTEMPTS WHILE REMAINING SUBSTANTIALLY DISCONNECTED FROM MOBILE ELECTRONIC DEVICE(S) AND/OR NETWORKS
The invention generally relates to systems and methods that enable processor readable instruction(s) (e.g., an un-wired algorithm, an un-wired application, an un-wired services, etc.), stored in processor readable media(s), to be accessed and/or processed on mobile electronic devices (e.g., “mobile phones”) and/or networks such that, for example, when activated by user(s) and/or authorized parties, the mobile electronic device’s alert (e.g., audiovisual alert, vibrator, etc.) can be deactivated. Further, when the un-wired application is activated customizable replies can automatically and/or substantially automatically be communicated in response to missed communication attempts (e.g., voice calls, video calls, texts, e-mail, etc.).
In-call messaging for inactive party
A method for using a system which enables a party to provide an in-call message to another party in an ongoing call includes receiving a first signal indicating that a first party in a call is inactive. The method further includes indicating to a second party in the call that the first party in the call is inactive. The method further includes receiving a recorded message from the second party in the call. The method further includes receiving a second signal indicating that the first party in the call is active. The method further includes providing, in response to receiving the second signal, the recorded message to the first party.
