VOLUME-BASED ONLINE CHARGING IN HYBRID NETWORKS
A method for enabling a charging of packet switched data transfer between an authorized customer and a network. The method includes transferring a total data volume via at least a first data path and a second data path between an equipment related to the authorized customer and a hybrid access aggregation point (HAAP) as an access to the network. Each of the at least a first data path and a second data bath use a different access technology for transferring its respective part of the total data volume. The total data volume is determined as a sum of the respective parts of the total data volume transferred in both the first path and the second path. The total data volume is used by a central charging unit for a charging.
DIFFERENTIAL CHARGING FOR LICENSED AND UNLICENSED SPECTRUM USAGE
Embodiments of the present disclosure describe systems, devices, and methods for charging architectures in cellular networks. Various embodiments may include an eNB collecting information about licensed and unlicensed spectrum resource usage on a per bearer basis and transmitting the information to a core network node. Other embodiments may be described or claimed.
FUNCTION AS A SERVICE CONSOLE FOR AN ONLINE APPLICATION EXCHANGE PLATFORM
A method for managing an application exchange platform includes receiving, from a developer, a service function, wherein the service function includes configuration details for an application available through an online application exchange. The method includes deploying the service function in the application exchange, identifying a first domain event requesting access to the service function from a user, and calling the service function in the online application exchange, in response to the first domain event. The method also includes recording a metric associate with the service function and a return parameter, emitting a second domain event indicative of a completion of the service function, and charging, with a billing tool, an appropriate party based on a usage metadata for the service function. A system and a non-transitory, computer-readable memory storing instructions to cause the system to perform the above method are also provided.
Trigger management for roaming calls in IMS networks
An IP Multimedia Subsystem Service Control Point (IMS-SCP) module of a carrier network may provide trigger management for a request for a circuit switched (CS) call. For example, an IMS-SCP module may receive an request for a CS call associated with a user equipment. The IMS-SCP module may determine handling of the request for the CS call includes one or more first operations by a first feature platform and one or more second operations by a second feature platform. In response to the determining, the IMS-SCP module may perform trigger management associated with the request for the CS call. The trigger management may include invoking, by the IMS-SCP module, the one or more first operations of the first feature platform and, subsequent to the invoking the one or more first operations, invoking the one or more second operations of the second feature platform.
Methods of enabling flexible charging in M2M IoT service layer
The present application is at least directed to an M2M gateway apparatus. The apparatus includes a non-transitory memory having instructions stored thereon for service layer online charging of a service layer event. The apparatus also includes a processor operably coupled to the non-transitory memory configured to execute a set of instructions. One of the instructions includes sending, to a service layer charging function of an M2M server, a service layer rating request message for the service layer online charging of the service layer event detected by the M2M gateway. The service layer event is triggered by an application registered to the M2M gateway and that performs a read or write operation on a resource of the M2M gateway. Another one of the instructions includes receiving, from the service layer charging function of the M2M server, a rating response including the calculated amount of service units required for the M2M gateway to process the service layer event. The resource is a uniquely addressable element having a Universal Resource Identifier (URI) and is a representation that can be manipulated via RESTful Create, Retrieve, Update, and Delete requests.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DISTRIBUTED CHARGING IN DIGITAL TELECOMMUNICATIONS NETWORKS
Techniques for distributed charging in digital telecommunications networks are disclosed. In one particular embodiment, the techniques may be realized as a method that includes provisioning a data path that carries a plurality of network flows, receiving a shared usage quota associated with the plurality of network flows, and allocating the shared usage quota among the plurality of network flows. For each network flow among the plurality of network flows, the method includes providing the data path with data indicative of an amount of the shared usage quota allocated to the network flow, configuring the data path to collect metering data associated with the network flow, and configuring the data path to enforce the shared usage quota based on the metering data associated with the network flow and the amount of the shared usage quota allocated to the network flow.
Method for accessing local network and device
A method for accessing a local network includes: subscribing, by a network device, to service area change information of user equipment, where the service area change information of the user equipment indicates that the user equipment enters or leaves a service area of the local network; receiving, by the network device, the service area change information of the user equipment; and performing, based on the received service area change information, policy control for the user equipment accessing or leaving the local network. In this way, access to the local network is accurately controlled, and is not affected by wireless network planning and adjustment, which greatly enhances user experience in use of the local network.
Charging policies in network entities that have separate control plane and user plane
A control plane entity selects a subset of a plurality of user plane entities to support a charging session associated with a user based on charging policies for the plurality of user plane entities. The control plane entity allocates portions of a quota for the charging session to the control plane entity and the subset of the plurality of user plane entities based on the charging policies. In some cases, the control plane entity modifies the quotas that are allocated to the control plane entity or the subset of the plurality of user plane entities. Modifying the quotas can include redistributing unused portions of the quotas among the control plane entity and the subset of the plurality of user plane entities, e.g., in response to handover of the user equipment between user plane entities.
Charging method, apparatus, and system
Embodiments of this application disclose a charging method and related devices. An example charging method includes: sending a charging start request for a packet data unit (PDU) session to a charging function apparatus, where the charging start request carries an indication receiving address; receiving an indication message that is sent by the charging function apparatus based on the indication receiving address, where the indication message carries an indication type; and performing charging processing based on the indication type.
Charging method, apparatus, and system
Example charging methods and apparatus are described. One example method includes sending a service resource create request to a charging system by a charging trigger apparatus. The charging trigger apparatus receives a service resource create response sent by the charging system. The service resource create request is used to request the charging system to create a service resource corresponding to a service in a session. The session is used to provide a data connection service to user equipment. The service resource is used to manage requesting for a quota for the service in the session and/or manage reporting of usage information of the service in the session. The service resource create response includes a first resource identifier, and the first resource identifier is used to identify the service resource that corresponds to the service in the session and that is created by the charging system.
