Techniques for extending a cellular quality of service bearer through an enterprise fabric

Techniques are described for extending a cellular quality of service bearer through an enterprise fabric network. In one example, a method obtaining, by a first switch of a network, a packet to be delivered to a client connected to the network via a cellular access point; identifying quality of service (QoS) bearer information associated with the packet, wherein the QoS bearer information is associated with a radio access bearer for the client and the QoS bearer information comprises a bearer indicator and a QoS class identifier; providing a fabric tunnel encapsulation for the packet, wherein the bearer indicator and the QoS class identifier are included within the fabric tunnel encapsulation of the packet; and forwarding the packet within the fabric tunnel encapsulation toward a second switch of the network via a fabric tunnel, wherein the cellular access point is connected to the network via the second switch.

A policy control method, an apparatus, and a system, where the method includes: receiving, by a session management network element, a first message from a terminal device, where the first message includes a quality of service (QoS) rule identifier and a first operation indication; sending, by the session management network element, a second message to a policy control network element, where the second message includes a policy and charging control (PCC) rule identifier corresponding to the QoS rule identifier and a second operation indication corresponding to the first operation indication; and receiving, by the policy control network element, the second message, and performing, by the policy control network element on a PCC rule corresponding to the PCC rule identifier, a second operation indicated by the second operation indication.

Method and apparatus for collecting network data

Disclosed herein are a method and an NWDAF for collecting network data, including: transmitting a network exposure subscription request message including an event reporting granularity parameter to the NF; receiving a data set determined by the NF based on the event reporting granularity parameter from the NF through an event exposure notification message in at least one reporting cycle; and performing network data analysis using received data set.

SESSION RECOVERY FROM DEDICATED BEARER FAILURE

Techniques and systems for recovering a communication session from a dedicated bearer failure are disclosed. For example, a P-CSCF node can determine that a dedicated bearer associated with a communication session has failed, and, in response, send a SIP message to a UE associated with the communication session, the SIP message causing the UE to refrain from sending SIP requests using a SIP INVITE method. The process may further include identifying a first network node associated with an identifier of the UE, the first network node comprising one of a PGW or a SMF, and sending an instruction to the first network node to dissociate the dedicated bearer from the communication session. This causes a new attach procedure to be performed by the UE to recover the session without session failure.

Tracking QoS violated events

A method in a network node comprises: detecting a Quality of Service (QoS) Violated Event in respect of a particular QoS flow of a Protocol Data Unit (PDU) session; and sending a corresponding QoS violated event report to any one or more of: a Session Management Function (SMF) of the network; a Policy Control Function (PCF) of the network; an Application Function (AF) of the network; and a third party service provider.

METHOD, COMPUTER PROGRAM, AND ALGORITHM FOR COMPUTING NETWORK SERVICE VALUE PRICING BASED ON COMMUNICATION SERVICE EXPERIENCES DELIVERED TO CONSUMERS AND MERCHANTS OVER A SMART MULTI-SERVICES (SMS) COMMUNICATION NETWORK
20180007214 · 2018-01-04 ·

A system and method for providing multi-services within a communication network according to various exemplary embodiments can include storing, in a database of a computer, user-defined sets of rules and instructions for providing multi-services to end user devices connected to a communication network comprising a Hybrid Fiber-Wireless (HFW) network having policy management capabilities. The system and method can receive, at one or more processors, the user-defined sets of rules and instructions from a plurality of end users via a plurality of end user devices. The system and method can configure a virtual network for each end user within the communication network using the policy management capabilities based on the user-defined sets of rules and instructions provided by each end user. The user-defined sets of rules and instructions define provisioning and delivery of resources and services provided by the communication network to the end user.

SERVICE PROCESSING METHOD, PCRF, AND SERVICE PROCESSING SYSTEM
20180007586 · 2018-01-04 ·

Embodiments of the present disclosure disclose a service processing method, a PCRF, and a system. The method performed by the PCRF includes: obtaining service information of a service, where the service information includes a service identity; obtaining, according to user information and the service information, information indicating that the service requires QoS guarantee, and service chain information; when determining, according to the service chain information, that a network resource occupied by the service may be changed, sending the service identity and the information indicating that the service requires the QoS guarantee to a value-added service processor; receiving target service information, returned by the value-added service processor, of the service corresponding to the service identity; generating a first control policy according to the target service information; and sending the first control policy to a PCEF, so that the PCEF reserves a first network resource according to the first control policy.

5G network slicing with distributed ledger traceability and resource utilization inferencing

Various systems and methods for implementing an edge computing system to realize 5G network slices with blockchain traceability for informed 5G service supply chain are disclosed. A system configured to track network slicing operations includes memory and processing circuitry configured to select a network slice instance (NSI) from a plurality of available NSIs based on an NSI type specified by a client node. The available NSIs uses virtualized network resources of a first network resource provider. The client node is associated with the selected NSI. The utilization of the network resources by the plurality of available NSIs is determined using an artificial intelligence (AI)-based network inferencing function. A ledger entry of associating the selected NSI with the client node is recorded in a distributed ledger, which further includes a second ledger entry indicating allocations of resource subsets to each of the NSIs based on the utilization.
