Managing service user discovery and service launch object placement on a device

Methods and apparatuses to manage service user discovery and service launch object placement on a device. A method comprising: obtaining information to assist in identifying a portion of a user interface of a wireless device, the wireless device communicatively coupled to a network system over a wireless access network; determining a differentiating attribute of the identified portion of the user interface; obtaining one or more service launch objects for placement in the identified portion of the user interface; and sending configuration information to the wireless device over the wireless access network to assist the wireless device in placing the one or more service launch objects in the identified portion of the user interface.

Collaborative scheduling of last hop cellular traffic

An eNodeB or other cell access point device can receive demand data from mobile devices served by the cell. The demand data can represent an estimate of demand over a future period for network resources (e.g., bandwidth). The cell can aggregate this demand data and determine price data for the time period or for various intervals of the time period, then transmit the price data to the mobile devices. The price data can operate as a collaborative approach to scheduling traffic. For example, data (e.g., delay tolerant data) can be shifted (e.g., delayed for a few seconds) based on an examination of the price data in conjunction a determined priority of the data. Such can be applicable to data traffic not traditionally thought of as delay tolerant such as streaming video or web browsing, and can be accomplished without negatively impacting the quality of service or experience of the client.

A wireless service provider system for authorizing wireless service on a wireless device includes a backend system. The backend system configured receive a request for the wireless service along with a monetary value of the wireless service in any requested amount from the connected device, receive a payment authorization or a verification of payment for the wireless service in the requested amount from the connected device, and receive a request from the connected device for allocating the wireless service.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR PROVISIONING RATE PLAN FEATURES IN A WIRELESS COMMUNICATION NETWORK
20230188956 · 2023-06-15 ·

A computer-implemented method for provisioning a feature associated with a brand of a wireless communication network may include loading a trigger condition in a catalog for triggering the feature, wherein an in-memory cache of the catalog is accessible by a network provisioning engine of the wireless communication network. At the network provisioning engine, the method may further include receiving, from a billing system computer, a transaction request for a subscriber having a rate plan associated with the brand, using a brand indication in the transaction request to locate the in-memory cache of the catalog, and determining whether the transaction request meets the trigger condition. If the transaction request meets the trigger condition, the method may further include determining a network node for provisioning the feature, and sending instructions to the network node to provision the feature in the subscriber's rate plan.

A Method of Updating a Background Data Transfer Policy Negotiated between an Application Function and a Core Network, a Policy Control Function, and an Application Function

A method of updating a background data transfer, BDT, policy negotiated between an application function, AF, and a Core Network, CN, is disclose. The method is performed by a Policy Control Function, PCF, of the CN and comprises determining updated BDT policy information including updated conditions for the negotiated BDT policy and at least one candidate BDT policy for the AP to select when the PCF determines that the negotiated BDT policy is affected by degraded network performance. The determined updated BDT policy information is then sent to the AF by the PCF using notification type interaction, thereby effectively updating the negotiated BDT policy.

A system and method for selecting an optimal service may include: (1) querying a device to determine the location at which the service is provided and the parameters of the service being used, (2) based on the information obtained from the query, comparing the parameters of competing services offered in the location, and (3) based on the comparison, selecting one of the competing services.

COLLABORATIVE POLICY MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES AT A MOBILE DEVICE

A method is provided. The method includes electing a mobile device optimization strategy at a mobile device, web interface, or through direction to the provider. In exchange for a user selecting the mobile device optimization strategy, a network or service provider provides one or more plan-related incentives. A related system and mobile device are also disclosed.

Systems and methods for improving telecommunications device experiences

Systems and methods for providing a better user experience and provider profitability. An exemplary system includes a telecommunications device subject to a cellular service plan from a cellular carrier. The telecommunications device includes an application program that gathers device usage data and determines whether the current cellular service plan is the best service plan based on gathered usage data. If a current cellular service plan is not the best service plan, based on the gathered usage data, then cellular service plans from the current cellular service provider or other service providers are measured against the gathered device-usage data to determine the best available service plan.
