20230009577 · 2023-01-12 ·

The invention relates to a system (100) and method (200) for providing contextual information and actions to make a conversation meaningful and engaging. The method (200) comprises the steps of identifying a contact from various data sources (101) and collecting the relevant information from one or more web-based applications and databases, wherein the collected information is mapped to create one or more discussion points by one or more prediction servers (102). Post-conversation suggestions are provided by one or more suggestion servers (103), wherein the discussion points and the post-conversation suggestions are displayed on a user interface device (104) for allowing the user to have meaningful and engaging conversations.

Technique for Obtaining Caller-Originated Alert Signals in IP-Based Communication Sessions
20180013883 · 2018-01-11 ·

A technique for obtaining caller-originated alert signals in IP-based communication sessions is disclosed. According to one embodiment, the technique may be realized as a method comprising the steps of: receiving, from a first user equipment and via a first communication channel, a request to initiate a communication session, the request being received at a second user equipment; in response to the request, causing a phonepage server to transmit, via a second communication channel, a caller-originated alert to the second user equipment; and rendering the caller-originated alert to alert a user associated with the second user equipment.

Callback tokens for dropped calls

A method and system that support re-establishing a dropped call or communication is disclosed. A terminal may publish its parameters to other terminals through in-band or out-of-band signaling. Token values may then be determined by a weighted sum of parameters, where the terminal having the largest weighted sum possesses the token. If the call or communication drops, the terminal possessing the token then initiates communication to the other terminals. In addition, a plurality of tokens may be used when there are more than two terminals in a call. The terminals may be partitioned into groups, where one of the terminals in each group possesses a token.

Systems and methods for providing voice assisted data during a branded voice session via a telecommunication network include a provider device including an in-call dialer interface, a cell site, and message management circuitry communicatively coupled to a call center. The provider device is structured to receive an indication of an in-call message during a branded voice session, determine a call address responsive to receiving the indication of the in-call message, generate a message interface including the call address, receive, by the message interface, the voice assisted data, and based on the call address, provide the voice assisted data during the branded voice session.

Delivery of caller identification data to a mobile device using application directed short messaging service

Caller name (CNAM) query results obtained from a traditional CNAM service are sent during call processing on a carrier network to the subscriber's mobile handset over a Short Message Service (SMS) channel on a mobile carrier network. A call page is received at a network carrier associated with a recipient of the received call page. A caller name (CNAM) query is performed, and the result of the performed CNAM query is sent to the recipient device before sending the call page to the recipient device. The CNAM query result is displayed on a display of the recipient device.

A method and a communication apparatus for sharing a series of numbers during a call are provided. In the method, the communication apparatus establishes a call with another communication apparatus, and performs a recognition procedure on a voice in the call to recognize a series of numbers appeared in the voice, so as to display the recognized series of numbers on a display of the communication apparatus. Then, an operation of a user is received and accordingly the series of numbers is sent to the another communication apparatus so as to display the series of numbers on the another communication apparatus.

Enabling ad-hoc data communication over established mobile voice communications

In one embodiment, a first PC may receive a trigger to establish a data communication session with a second PC over an established voice call between first and second phones over a WAN. In response, the first PC may discover the first phone as an authorized personal area network (PAN) device, and may establish a first PAN communication session between the first PC and the first phone. A request may then be transmitted to the second phone over the established voice call to establish the data communication session between the first and second PCs, and in response, the second phone may discover the second PC as an authorized PAN device from the second phone. A second PAN communication session may thus be established between the second phone and the second PC, and data may be exchanged between the PCs using the PAN communication sessions and the established voice call.

Methods and apparatus for conducting internet protocol telephony communications

IP telephony communications are conducted by sending both audio data produced by a CODEC that represents received spoken audio input, and a textual representation of the spoken audio input. A receiving device utilizes the textual representation of the spoken audio input to help recreate the spoken audio input when a portion of the CODEC data is missing. The textual representation can be generated by a speech-to-text function. Alternatively, the textual representation can be a notation of extracted phonemes.
