An improved handheld electronic device and an associated method provide an improved call log that presents information relating to logged phone calls in a collapsed manner, meaning that for each phone number having a call stored in the memory of the device, only the most recent in time call is listed on the call log. An improved handheld electronic device and an associated method also provide a call history for any phone call from the improved call log that is selected by the user. The call history includes a listing of all of the calls stored by the device that are associated with the selected call log call.

Disclosed herein are various embodiments for publishing a service offer set to a device agent on an end-user device and for on-device selection of a service. In some embodiments, a network system publishes a service offer set to an end-user device over a wireless access network, receives an offer set user selection from the end-user device, and provisions one or more network functions based on the offer set user selection.

A first wireless end-user device is designated as subject to controls under a device group authorization from a master wireless end-user device. The first device receives a protection management profile from the master device, and compares settings in the profile to a device location change state (e.g., speed) and a device user I/O method state (e.g., touchscreen, hands-free, Bluetooth, voice-activated, etc.). According to the profile, at certain speeds and I/O methods, one or more device service and/or network activities are limited. The master device may send multiple such profiles to the first device, any of which if applicable can limit different service and/or network activities in different situations.
