A method for prioritizing a mobile originated emergency call over mobile terminated call signaling, includes: initiating an emergency call on a first subscription; determining whether a mobile terminated (MT) call is incoming on a second subscription; in response to determining that the MT call is incoming on the second subscription, aborting the MT call signaling; determining whether the first subscription is out of service; and in response to determining that the first subscription is not out of service completing the emergency call on the first subscription.

An emergency notification system includes: an emergency notification control device 10 that notifies an emergency institution of an emergency notification from an emergency notification agency; and a reception base that receives the emergency notification. The emergency notification control device includes a registration list in which the emergency notification agency is registered and a filtering unit that transmits only the emergency notification from the emergency notification agency registered in the registration list to the emergency institution, and the reception base receives the emergency notification transmitted by the filtering unit.

A method for routing civilian calls to an associated public-safety officer is provided herein. During operation, a call processor receives a civilian call having a target identifier number identifying a target of the call. An incident identifier is then received from the calling party. A current workflow point is determined for the identified incident, and the call is routed to an appropriate person based on the workflow point for the identified incident.

In order to address the above-mentioned need, a method for routing civilian calls to an associated public-safety officer is provided herein. During operation, a call processor receives a civilian call having a source identifier number identifying a source of the call and a target identifier number identifying a target of the call. A current status priority of the associated public-safety officer is determined as a function of the current assignment status, and when the current status priority is less than the incident record priority, the civilian call is routed directly to a mobile device associated with the associated public-safety officer. When the current status priority is greater than the incident record priority, the civilian call is routed directly to one of a public-safety answering point or an automated voice mail system.

A wireless network is provided that includes a base station and subscriber stations that communicate with the base station using radio frequency (RF) time division duplex (TDD) signaling. The base station may establish medium access control (MAC) connections with each station. The base station monitors communications with the stations and, in accordance, assigns stations or MAC connections to modulation groups. The base station transmits signals on MAC connections or to stations in a modulation group in adjacent TDD slots within a TDD frame. The base station may receive access requests from the stations, evaluate traffic requirements for the stations, and determine a longest downlink portion for the stations. The base station then allocates downlink and uplink portions of a TDD frame according to the length of the longest downlink portion.

A system, device and method for generating common actuatable options that initiate a plurality of actions is provided. Interfaces are identified at the one or more display devices, each of the interfaces comprising a respective actuatable option which, when actuated, initiates a respective action, each respective actuatable option having a label. The interfaces are determined to be associated using one or more of: the labels of the respective actuatable options; and the respective actions. In response to determining that the interfaces are associated, a common actuatable option is generated at the one or more display devices, which, when actuated, initiates the respective actions.

Systems and methods for dynamically assigning an Automatic Number Identification (ANI) to a device deployed in a controlled-environment facility. In an illustrative, non-limiting embodiment, a system may include: a processor; and a memory coupled to the processor, the memory having program instructions stored thereon that, upon execution by the processor, cause the system to: receive a request to facilitate a communication between a resident of a controlled-environment facility and a non-resident of the controlled-environment facility, where the resident operates a device lacking a dedicated ANI; and assign a temporary ANI to the resident's device, where the temporary ANI is different from any other ANI being used by any other device in the controlled-environment facility concurrently with the communication.

A system and method for performing automated contact and information delivery includes one or more doctor office interface devices, and one or more medical facility interface devices that communicate with a site owner system over a network. The system and method permit a doctor office to designate one or more medical professionals to receive messages about a patient at a medical facility, based on the circumstances of the case. The system and method provide a connect on call module for facilitating direct communication between the facility employee and the identified medical professional utilizing both textual and audio/visual mechanisms without revealing the confidential contact information of the medical professional to the facility employee.
