There is provided a method comprising: determining, by a network element, that at least one terminal device is capable of performing a voice call quality test, sending a radio system specific control message to the at least one terminal device, wherein the control message causes the at least one terminal device to perform the voice call quality test, and obtaining the voice call quality test results.

A wireless base station device includes a test request unit that, upon receipt of a line test request from a host station side, transmits an implementation request for a line test to a wireless terminal station device and a test response unit that transmits at least one of a terminal identification code returned from the wireless terminal station device and a terminal identification code and a line test result of the wireless base station device to the host station side. A wireless terminal station device includes a test implementation unit that receives the implementation request for the line test from the wireless base station device, executes the line test between the wireless terminal station device and the subscriber home, and acquires the line test result and a test-signal communication unit that transmits at least one of a terminal identification code returned from a device on the subscriber home side and a terminal identification code and a line test result of the wireless terminal station device to the wireless base station device.

This invention relates to a fault analysis device that can be connected to a DSL line and home modem, and used to perform line measurements when interference may be present. The device receives status information about the DSL line from the modem via a suitable interface such as Ethernet, and when the status information indicates that the line is not synchronised, which may be due to interference causing the line to lose synchronisation, the device disconnects the line from the modem and performs spectral analysis on the line. In doing so, measurements are made at the time when interference may be occurring, rather than at some later time when interference may no longer be present.

It is suggested to detect a single wire interruption (SWI) of a line comprising two wires, wherein such line is part of a vectoring group, comprising (i) determining a capacitance between the single wires of the line; and (ii) determining whether a single wire interruption is present based on the determined capacitance.
