Identifying and processing, for priority, calls in data communications server
11611654 · 2023-03-21 · ·

Apparatuses and methods concerning routing and processing of calls in a server are disclosed, and involving a processing circuit communicatively coupled to a server that routes calls (e.g., data communications) for a plurality of end-users and generates call event messages for the routed calls. The processing circuit generates call summary data and evaluates the call summary data to identify a set of incoming calls to the server that were missed and have not been returned by the end-users. Certain of the calls are checked relative to a secondary data source and respective priorities for the set of incoming calls are ascribed for further processing, and some having a higher priority.

Packet switched voice call capability indication in wireless communications

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for a user equipment (UE) to report packet switched voice call capabilities to a base station. The UE may explicitly report voice call capabilities via one or more system-level parameters that are transmitted to the base station. The base station may operate in a first radio access network (RAN), such as a 5G or new radio (NR) RAN. In cases where the UE indicates a capability for packet switched voice calls via the first RAN, one or more voice calls may be established with the UE via the first RAN. In cases where the UE indicates that it is not capable of packet switched voice calls via the first RAN, the UE may fall back to a different RAN (e.g., a 4G or LTE RAN, a 3G RAN, or a 2G RAN) for voice calls.

Processing sensitive information over VoIP

The invention relates to a method of processing sensitive information over VoIP. The method provides a method of processing, by a call processor, a media call comprising the steps of: receiving a first signalling stream from a first entity; creating a second signalling stream to a second entity; forwarding signals received from the first signalling stream to the second signalling stream; receiving a third signalling stream from the second entity; creating a fourth signalling stream to the first entity; and forwarding signals received on the third signalling stream to the fourth signalling stream; the first signalling stream containing instructions to set up a media call between the first entity and the second entity such that media is transmitted over a first media stream from the first entity to the second entity and a media is transmitted over a second media stream from the second entity to the first entity without intervention by said call processor.

Communication using communication tokens, such as QR codes
11689667 · 2023-06-27 ·

A VoIP communication service using communication tokens, such as QR codes, to identify the receivers can provide callers with the ability to communicate with the receivers using VoIP technology, without the need to pre-registering with the VoIP service provider that hosts the communication. The tokens can be customized by having a profile, which can include conditions imposed by the receivers on the callers. The tokens can be used in a call center to provide VoIP communication services.

Integration of home entertainment devices with a software client for telephony

A communication system including a communication network, an entertainment device connected to the communication network, and an application server connected to the communication network. The entertainment device has a software client adapted to provide real time two-way communication between the entertainment device and a telephony device connected to the communication network. The application server is adapted to communicate with the software client and facilitate the real time two-way communication between the entertainment device and the telephony device.

In one embodiment, a first PC may receive a trigger to establish a data communication session with a second PC over an established voice call between first and second phones over a WAN. In response, the first PC may discover the first phone as an authorized personal area network (PAN) device, and may establish a first PAN communication session between the first PC and the first phone. A request may then be transmitted to the second phone over the established voice call to establish the data communication session between the first and second PCs, and in response, the second phone may discover the second PC as an authorized PAN device from the second phone. A second PAN communication session may thus be established between the second phone and the second PC, and data may be exchanged between the PCs using the PAN communication sessions and the established voice call.

Broadcasting system

A broadcasting system provides a telephone number as identity information during a registration process of a user equipment intended to be used as a user broadcasting equipment. The telephone number is one of many telephone numbers associated with the broadcasting system. During the registration process in which the user equipment is identified as a user broadcasting equipment, various information associated with the user equipment are obtained and stored. The identity information, i.e., the telephone number, maps to the stored information such that when the user equipment is used to dial the provided telephone number, the broadcasting system automatically recognizes the user equipment is making a dial to broadcast request. Upon checking the stored information associated with the user equipment, the broadcasting system allows the user equipment to broadcast to one or more other user equipment registered as listeners to a scheduled broadcast.

Phone systems, phone devices (including hardware, software and firmware), and methods of operating a phone. Described herein are dissociated phone systems including one or a plurality of local client phones with basic call handling capability that communicate though a remote phone server but are locally controlled by a controller gateway that manages the local network including the local client phones.

A device may receive, from a source device, a request for a target device to perform an operation. The request includes parameters, source information that identifies the source device, and operation information that identifies an operation. The request invokes an API that selects, based on the source information and the operation information, validation rules. The API executes the validation rules to determine whether the parameters are valid for the operation. The API may determine, from executing the validation rules, that an issue is preventing the parameters from being valid for the operation. The API may select, based on the source information and the operation information, a recovery rule from among a plurality of recovery rules. The API may execute the recovery rule to remedy the issue and provide a response message indicating a result of executing the recovery rule.

A connection procedure for data communications devices is implemented in a variety of embodiments. In one such embodiment, the procedure uses a first set of connection data for attempting to connect and upon failure to connect uses a second set of connection information in addition to the first set of connection information to attempt a connection. In another embodiment, a delay is implemented before transmitting the connection information and a subsequent delay is implemented to allow for additional connection information to be input and transmitted.
