The method further includes determining if there is a print job of a user in a print queue of the multi-function device and displaying an option to transfer the print job to the external storage device based on the determination. The method includes receiving an input from the user, the input is indicative of a selection of the option to transfer the print job. Also, the method includes automatically creating a pre-defined folder in the external storage device based on receiving the input and transferring the print job of the user from the print queue of the multi-function device to the pre-defined folder of the external storage device.

An image forming device that executes an image forming program for real-time mechanical control and another program, using a single cache memory for the image forming program and said another program. The image forming device includes: a cache lockdown unit that executes a cache lockdown to lock down a storage area of the cache memory that stores at least a portion of the image forming program necessary for image formation processing; and a print unit that executes the image formation processing while the storage area is locked down.

According to an embodiment, an image forming apparatus, comprises a document feeder to feed a document page by page, a scanner to scan the document fed by the document feeder and generate image data of the document, a printing apparatus to print images on recording media. An interface is configured to receive print settings and a test printing command. A controller is configured to control the document feeder to feed pages of the document according to the print settings when the test printing command is received, acquire image data of the pages of the document fed by the document feeder, and control the printing apparatus to print images in a test printing. The images in the test printing comprising image data of the pages of the document fed by the document feeder.

According to an embodiment, an image forming apparatus, comprises a document feeder to feed a document page by page, a scanner to scan the document fed by the document feeder and generate image data of the document, a printing apparatus to print images on recording media. An interface is configured to receive print settings and a test printing command. A controller is configured to control the document feeder to feed pages of the document according to the print settings when the test printing command is received, acquire image data of the pages of the document fed by the document feeder, and control the printing apparatus to print images in a test printing. The images in the test printing comprising image data of the pages of the document fed by the document feeder.

The controller controls, in a case where the printing data received by the reception unit is printing data from a mobile terminal apparatus for which the distance detected by the detector is within a preset range, the output unit to output the printing result without requiring the specific operation by the user.
