A system and method for natural language communication between a user and a multifunction peripheral incorporates a chatbot. The chatbot response to verbal user commands or inquiries with corresponding device reports or operation. The chatbot operates in conjunction monitored multifunction peripheral states and document processing jobs, and tenders a verbal reply accordingly, supplying information to inform the user of additional matters related to the inquiry and of likely usefulness to the user.

The processing unit includes: a first counter that determines a pulse width of the PWM wave; a comparison unit that compares a first difference value, obtained by subtracting the pulse width in a second cycle being a cycle immediately preceding a first cycle from the pulse width in the first cycle, and a second difference value obtained by subtracting the pulse width in a cycle immediately preceding the second cycle from the pulse width in the second cycle; and an output unit that outputs the square wave while switching a state thereof in a case where a sign of the first difference value changes from that of the second difference value.

A server of a printing system includes a print instruction acquisition unit configured to acquire a print instruction indicated by a voice that is a print instruction of a content included in a content group from a voice intermediation device, a selection unit configured to select a content to be printed from the content group according to the print instruction, and a transmitter configured to transmit print data for printing the selected content to the printing device. The selection unit totalizes a printing count of each content included in the content group for a plurality of users, and selects the content to be printed from the content group based on the totalized printing count. The selection unit may select the content to be printed from the content group based on an attribute applicable to a user. The printing device receives the print data and performs printing according to the print data.

A system for providing print device dynamic status indicator feedback includes a print device, and a status indicator feedback unit. The print device includes a print engine and one or more status monitors. The status indicator feedback unit includes a display device, a light emitting module, a processor in communication with the light emitting module, and a computer-readable medium containing programming instructions. The system may receive information corresponding to one or more current machine states of the print device from the one or more status monitors of the print device, determine a priority level associated with each of the one or more current machine states, identify a machine state associated with a highest priority level, identify a dynamic feedback pattern associated with the identified machine state. The dynamic feedback pattern includes a visual pattern. The system may and instruct the light emitting module to emit the visual pattern.

A system for providing multifunction device (MFD) status information to a user includes an MFD and a light projection unit. The MFD may include a print engine and one or more status monitors. The light projection unit may include a light projecting module, and a processor for receiving information corresponding to a current machine state of the MFD from the status monitors of the MFD. The processor may identify an area of the MFD that corresponds to the current machine state, and identify a projected light pattern associated with the current machine state. The projected light pattern includes a visual pattern created using projected light. The processor may instruct the light projecting module to project the identified projected light pattern proximate to the identified area of the MFD.

An image processing system includes an image processing device configured to process an image, a microphone configured to acquire sound, a display configured to display information, and one or more controllers. The one or more controllers are configured to function as a unit configured to acquire text information based on voice information acquired via the microphone, and a unit configured to cause the image processing device to execute image processing in response to an execution command being acquired from the text information, and to cause the display to display, in response to an execution command related to the image processing being not acquired from the text information and a setting command related to the image processing being acquired, a screen for waiting for an execution instruction to execute image processing that is based on at least the setting command.
