In an inkjet printing apparatus, in response to reception of a copy instruction, a controller causes the scanner to read an image formed on an original, generates image data representing the image on the original, and determines a standby period corresponding to an operation mode. In response to elapse of the standby period since the copy instruction was received, the controller separates a cap and an inkjet head. After the cap and the inkjet head separated each other, the controller causes the inkjet head to eject ink droplets based on the image data. The controller determines the standby period such that the separation of the cap and the inkjet head executed in parallel with reading of the image on the original finishes at the same time or earlier than generation of image data necessary to start to print the read image printing process in reading the image on the original.

When a feeding apparatus of a first type is connected to a first mounting surface, a processor outputs, to the feeding apparatus of the first type via a first signal terminal, a control signal. The feeding apparatus of the first type is connected to a second mounting surface, the control unit outputs, to a feeding apparatus of a second type via the second signal terminal, a control command for controlling the feeding apparatus of the first type. When the feeding apparatus of the first type is connected to the second mounting surface, the feeding apparatus of the second type outputs, to the feeding apparatus of the first type via a fourth signal terminal, a control signal based on a control command for controlling the feeding apparatus of the first type outputted from an image forming apparatus.

Printing fluid drop adjustment based on media temperature

In an example, a print system identifies a number of drops to eject corresponding to an expected variation in print fluid based on media temperature and generate print instructions to operate a fluid eject device to that effect. In another example, a print system includes a temperature engine to identify a temperature, a compensator engine to identify a number of drops of print fluid based on the media temperature, and a control engine to generate print instructions to operate a fluid ejection device to place the number of drops of print fluid on media.

A printer includes a printing engine, an interface, and a controller. The controller is configured to perform obtaining a file from an external storage device; determining whether the file has information representing a specific function; in response to determining that the file has the information, sending to a server a data request; receiving data on the updates from the server; incorporating the data on the updates into the file; and causing the printing engine to print an image based on the file including the data on the updates. In response to not determining that the file has the information, the data request is not sent to the server.

Image forming apparatus

An image forming apparatus including a polygon mirror that deflects a light beam, the image forming apparatus includes: an optical sensor arranged such that the light beam deflected by the polygon mirror enters the optical sensor; and a hardware processor that measures an output level of the optical sensor and calculates, as a remaining life of the polygon mirror, an operation time of the polygon mirror to when the output level becomes a threshold value in a case of assuming that the output level ongoingly changes at a rate of change over time that is a change amount of the output level per unit operation time of the polygon mirror, using the measured output level.

Electric apparatus and control method therefor

An apparatus for controlling movement of a target object generates a first operation quantity for first feedback control, and determines a second operation quantity for second feedback control in accordance with which of plural regions obtained by dividing a two-dimensional space defined by two variables of the first and second state quantities includes the first and second state quantities. The plural regions include first, second and third regions, the first region being provided between the second and third regions. The second operation quantity is determined so that the second operation quantity when the first and second state quantities are located in the first region is less than the second operation quantity when the first and second state quantities are located in the second region or the third region.

Method and apparatus to input workflow steps and parameters

An image forming method and apparatus, includes setting a processing order of a plurality of operations of a same image data and detailed setup information of the plurality of operations, and executing the plurality of operations using the detailed setup information according to the set processing order.

Image processing device and medium storing image processing program

An information interchange unit, a storage unit, and a display controller are configured such that, after a image selection unit selects a first image and a second image, the information interchange unit interchanges, automatically, first image information of the first image with second image information of the second image, or interchanges, automatically, first position information of the first image with second position information of the second image, the storage unit stores and correlates the first image information and the second position information, and stores and correlates the second image information and the first position information, and the display controller controls, automatically, a display to display the one image based on the first image information and the second position information, and the another image based on the second image information and the first position information.

Image processing method displaying processed image representing result of color modification process

An image processing method includes: (a) displaying a plurality of candidate image processes to be performed on image data, the plurality of candidate image processes including a color modification process; (b) receiving an instruction indicating the color modification process selected from among the plurality of candidate image processes; (c) displaying a display image corresponding to the image data on the display; (d) designating a display image; and (e) displaying a processed display image that represents a result of the selected color modification process performed on the image data corresponding to the designated display image before the selected color modification process on the image data corresponding to the designated display image is performed.
