A server includes memory, a connection establisher, a first transmission request receiver, a first determiner, a first screen data transmitter, a second screen data transmitter, and a first disconnector. The connection establisher establishes continuous connection with a communication device. The first transmission request receiver receives a first transmission request t for displaying a setting screen corresponding to a first type of service. In response to the first transmission request being received from the external device, the first determiner determine whether a second type of service is currently provided. The first screen data transmitter transmits first screen data for displaying a first setting screen to the external device in response to the first determiner determining that the second type of service is not currently provided. The first disconnector disconnects the continuous connection in response to selection of a disconnection button included in the first setting screen displayed on the external device.

In a communication system including a communication apparatus and a communication terminal which are able to perform wireless communication with each other, the communication apparatus includes a first wireless communication interface conforming to a Bluetooth standard and including a plurality of antennas, and the communication terminal includes a second wireless communication interface conforming to the Bluetooth standard and one or more controllers configured to acquire angle information and radio field intensity information based on a result of a plurality of radio waves respectively emitted from the plurality of antennas having been received by the second wireless communication interface, and, in response to the angle information and the radio field intensity information having satisfied a predetermined condition, transmit a request for establishment of wireless communication conforming to the Bluetooth standard to the first wireless communication interface via the second wireless communication interface.

Methods and systems are described for distributing and receiving fax transmissions via a data connection that is owned by a service provider. In one embodiment, a fax server receives a signaling protocol invite from a telephone service provider in response to the telephone service provider receiving, over a circuit switched network and from a source device, an incoming call signal to a fax telephone number of the service provider. The server responds to the invite by establishing a data connection based on the signaling protocol with the telephone service provider, where the data connection is owned by the service provider. The server receives an incoming fax message that is in a fax format and is routed by the telephone service provider as the source device transmits the incoming fax message. The server transmits the fax message to a destination address.

A system and method for distributed processing in an Internet Protocol network is provided. A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, an application server can have a controller element to receive a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) INVITE message from a communication device, establish a Real Time Protocol (RTP) channel between the communication device and the application server responsive to the SIP INVITE message, and submit a SIP SUBSCRIBE message to an intermediate communication node (ICN) directing the ICN to engage one or more Digital Signal Processing (DSP) resources for processing signals in the RTP channel. An image processing apparatus according to the present invention includes a detection unit configured to detect approach or contact of a printing apparatus relative to a display apparatus, a first acquisition unit configured to acquire information about a print attribute of the printing apparatus detected by the detection unit, a second acquisition unit configured to acquire attribute information about content data to be displayed on the display apparatus, and a determination unit configured to determine suitability of printing the content data in the printing apparatus, based on the information about the print attribute of the printing apparatus and the attribute information about the content data.

A function executing device is configured to send a wireless identifier to a communication device via a first type of wireless communication interface for setting up a wireless connection. The function executing device is configured to determine whether the function executing device is in an error state and, if not, to establish the wireless connection via a second type of wireless communication interface. The function executing device operates in a parent state in the wireless connection. Additionally, print data may be received from the communication device. However, if the function executing device is in an error state the wireless connection is not established via the second type of wireless communication interface.

A printing apparatus of the present invention makes wireless LAN connection in at least either one of a first connection mode for making wireless LAN connection to an image processing apparatus in which inherent authentication information is stored and a second connection mode for making wireless LAN connection to the image processing apparatus via a second access point provided by an apparatus other than the printing device and the image processing apparatus. The printing apparatus controls, in a case of connection in the first connection mode, a first function provided by the printing apparatus to be enabled and a second function which is enabled in the second connection mode to be disabled.

An image processing apparatus includes a job processing portion, a first communication portion, a second communication portion, a job control portion. In the image processing apparatus, the first communication portion performs first wireless communication being proximity-type wireless communication. The second communication portion performs second wireless communication whose communicable distance is longer than that of the first wireless communication and whose communication speed is faster than that of the first wireless communication. Systems, apparatuses, methodologies and other tools may be provided to facilitate operation of an output device that includes printing functionality, by automated handshaking between a user's mobile device and a guest print hotspot device, when the mobile device is within short-range operation range of the hotspot device.
