In some examples, a system compares information of a color profile for an imaging device to color information relating to a type of substrate on which an image is to be formed. Based on the comparing, the system determines a mismatch between the color profile and the type of substrate. The system initiates a remedial action to address the mismatch.

A method is disclosed. According to some examples, the method comprises determining, by processing circuitry, a first element set to be associated with a print addressable location, the first element set comprising a first plurality of elements, wherein each element of the first plurality of elements identifies a print colorant or print colorant combination and is associated with a probability that the print colorant or print colorant combination identified by that element is to be applied to the associated print addressable location. The method may comprise determining, by processing circuitry, a second element set to be associated with the print addressable location, the second element set comprising a second plurality of elements, wherein each element of the second plurality of elements identifies a print agent or print agent combination and is associated with a probability that the print agent or print agent combination identified by that element is to be applied to the associated print addressable location. The method may comprise determining, by processing circuitry, a combined element set based on the first element set and the second element set. An apparatus and a machine-readable medium are also disclosed.

Provided is a printing device that can accurately perform printing on a recording medium. The printing device includes: a frame member disposed to surround a nail tip; a printing unit configured to perform printing on the nail tip surrounded by the frame member; a communication part configured to acquire print information which is generated based on an image obtained by capturing the frame member and the nail tip and indicates a layout of printing to be applied to the nail tip in a printable region defined by the frame member; and a print control part configured to control the printing unit based on the acquired print information.

A color printing system manages ICC profiles by controlling ink use without performing the ICC profile creation operations. To obtain an ink limit for an ICC profile, a table associated with the ICC profile is parsed to determine the ink limit. The ink limit is decreased or increased. For an ink limit decrease, a color over the decreased ink limit is adjusted to meet the new ink limit. The ICC profile is updated accordingly. For an ink limit increase, the combination of primary colors are boosted by a percentage amount. Checks are made with regard to the volume-based ink limit and an quality check operation to accepted the boosted amount. The ICC profile is updated accordingly.

An image processing apparatus includes one or more processors and one or more memories, the one or more memories including one or more programs. The one or more programs cause the one or more processors (a) to acquire first shape data that represents a three-dimensional shape of unevenness, (b) to generate edge data for specifying a first area that corresponds to an edge of a convex portion and a second area that does not correspond to the edge of the convex potion in the unevenness, based on the first shape data, and (c) to generate, based on the edge data, data to form the first area and not the second area on a recording medium.

For a plurality of types of print media, a pre-trained model is prepared, the pre-trained model being generated by machine learning based on spectroscopic information of an unprinted area on the print medium and an identifier indicating the type of the print medium and using the identifier as a trainer. The spectroscopic information of the unprinted area on the print medium to print on is acquired. The acquired spectroscopic information is applied to the pre-trained model. Using a result thereof, auxiliary information about the type of the print medium is outputted. A specification of the type of the print medium using the outputted auxiliary information is accepted. When the type of the print medium is thus specified, printing is performed using a print condition suitable for the print medium.

In response to reception of instructions to print a color sample from a user, first, a printing unit is caused to perform calibration. Then, after the calibration is completed in the printing unit, control is performed so that print data is generated by execution of predetermined image processing for image data representing the color sample and printing processing of the print data is performed in the printing unit.
