INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, VIDEO DISPLAY SYSTEM, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
An information processing apparatus determines which of a first method for generating virtual viewpoint video upon receiving from an external apparatus object data used for generation of the virtual viewpoint video or a second method for receiving from the external apparatus virtual viewpoint video generated upon a virtual viewpoint designated for generation of the virtual viewpoint video to use as a delivery method for delivery of the virtual viewpoint video; and obtains the virtual viewpoint video by using the determined delivery method.
IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS, CONTROL METHOD THEREOF, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
An image processing apparatus obtains information that on a first video and a second video at least one of which is a captured video obtained by an image capturing apparatus, the information related to the first and second videos includes information on first and second viewpoints corresponding to the first and second videos of a same timing. The image processing apparatus, in a case where switching a video to be outputted from the first video to the second video, generates information on a virtual viewpoint corresponding to a period from an end of output of the first video until a start of output of the second video, based on the obtained information on the first viewpoint corresponding to the period and the obtained information on the second viewpoint corresponding to the period.
Viewport dependent video streaming events
Systems and methods described herein provide for rendering and quality monitoring of rendering of a 360-degree video, where the video has a plurality of representations with different levels of quality in different regions. In an exemplary method, a client device tracks a position of a viewport with respect to the 360-degree video and renders to the viewport a selected set of the representations. The client adaptively adds and removes representations from the selected set based on the viewport position. The client also measures and reports a viewport switching latency. In some embodiments, the latency for a viewport switch is a comparable-quality viewport switch latency that represents the time it takes after a viewport switch to return to a quality comparable to the pre-switch viewport quality.
Depth map generation device
A depth map generation device includes a plurality of image capture pairs, a depth map generation module, and a processor. The depth map generation module is coupled to the plurality of image capture pairs for generating a plurality of depth maps corresponding to the plurality of image capture pairs according to the image pairs captured by the plurality of image capture pairs. The processor is coupled to the depth map generation module for optionally outputting a depth map of the plurality of depth maps, or outputting a blending depth map composed of a part or all of the plurality of depth maps.
MONITORING OF VIDEO STREAMING EVENTS
Systems and methods described herein provide for monitoring of video streaming events. Techniques disclosed include rendering a first omnidirectional video associated with a first viewpoint. In response to a request to access an omnidirectional video associated with another viewpoint, a time of the request and information identifying the other viewpoint is recorded. Techniques disclosed also include identifying a time of switching into rendering of a second omnidirectional video associated with a second viewpoint, and reporting a viewpoint switching latency, representing a difference between the identified switching time and a recorded request time associated with information identifying the second viewpoint.
Stereoscopic endoscope system
A stereoscopic endoscope system includes a stereoscopic endoscope and an identification information combining section. The stereoscopic endoscope is provided with an R image pickup section and an R output section which are provided on a right side of an endoscope body, an L image pickup section and an L output section which are provided on a left side of the endoscope body, and an R memory and an L memory which store correction information for either right or left and identification information. The right and left image pickup sections and the right and left memories are correctly or incorrectly combined and are connected to the right and left output sections. The identification information combining section performs image combination of an image and identification information inputted from the R output section or an image and identification information inputted from the L output section and outputs a combined image.
Methods and apparatus for controlling a viewing position
Methods and apparatus for allowing a user to switch viewing positions and/or perspective while viewing an environment, e.g., as part of a 3D playback/viewing experience, are described. In various embodiments images of the environment are captured using cameras placed at multiple camera positions. During viewing a user can select which camera position he/she would like to experience the environment from. While experiencing the environment from the perspective of a first camera position the user may switch from the first to a second camera position by looking at the second position. A visual indication is provided to the user to indicate that the user can select the other camera position as his/her viewing position. If a user input indicates a desired viewing position change, a switch to the alternate viewing position is made and the user is presented with images captured from the perspective of the user selected alternative viewing position.
Electronic device and method for displaying and generating panoramic image
Disclosed is a method for displaying a panoramic image by an electronic device. According to an example embodiment of the present disclosure, a method for generating a panoramic image may comprise sensing a direction that a first side surface of the electronic device faces through a sensor included in the electronic device, displaying a first partial image of the panoramic image corresponding to the sensed direction of the first side surface, determining a direction corresponding to the reference view information with respect to the first partial image if information regarding the first partial image differs from reference view information indicating a reference view for the panoramic image, and providing information about the determined direction.
Three-dimensional image system for multiple 3D display
A three-dimensional image system includes a monitor that displays an image signal as an image for three-dimensional observation, glasses for three-dimensional observation for observing, as a three-dimensional image, the image for three-dimensional observation displayed on a display section of the monitor, a storing section that is provided in the glasses for three-dimensional observation and stores an image parameter correction value for three-dimensional observation for correcting image parameters for three-dimensional observation for giving a cubic effect of the image for three-dimensional observation displayed on the display section, a scanning section that scans the glasses for three-dimensional observation in order to read information stored in the storing section, and a control section that performs control to set, according to a scanning result of the scanning section, the image parameter correction value for three-dimensional observation in the monitor.
INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, AND PROGRAM
An information processing apparatus according to an embodiment of the present technology includes a processor. The processor switches between display of a first real space image and display of a second real space image by performing switching processing on the basis of metadata related to the switching between the display of the first real space image and the display of the second real space image, the switching processing corresponding to an angle of view of the first real space image, the first real space image being displayed on a virtual space, the second real space image being displayed on a region including a region, in the virtual space, on which the first real space image is displayed, the region on which the second real space image is displayed being larger than the region on which the first real space image is displayed.
